Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

Why would you see him at work? I would ask him to wait (at your convienience) until you are off work and on personal time. Talk about renting space in his head- he is texting at 2AM about you? Poor guy needs help.

I have my reasons for wanting to meet with him as early as possible. Let's just say it was icing on the cake. ;)

You go gmann! Give him the dressing down he deserves. Remain articulate, firm, and stay on the high road. I'd love to know how this turns out :D

(Big picture - my fil and mil think bil is a saint and about as perfect as perfect can get. fil and mil have been supporting bil in numerous ways which have enabled bil to get into the mess he his currently in. Mrs. g and myself have confronted all parties with solid facts contradicting/calling out all parties only to have bil lie and come out looking better than before therefore making me and Mrs. g look like the bad guys.)

The meeting is over. I won't go into specific details but as unfortunate/disappointing as this situation is I definitely got my point across with tact and taking the high road. bil confessed to every issue that mil/fil refuse to ackowledge or have covered up. Furthermore, I ended the conversation by asking my mil/fil if they had anything to comment on as I had them on speakerphone without bil knowing they were on and without mil/fil knowing what bil had done. Wham! Don't f with g.

Nice. Shot.

Now, since he was at your office, you can bill him at, what, $200/hour?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

gmann, that is awesome.

.

I'm sick and I want some soup. I would drive to the store to get some soup, but the Charter Cable guy is supposed to be here between 1-3pm and knowing my luck, if I sit here waiting he'll show at 4 but if I leave he'll be here five minutes after I drive off

That's the way it usually goes. That's why you always have some broth, mixed vegetables and some meat on hand, Half-Pint.

We'll see. At a bare minimum I (and mrs. g for that matter) can wash our hands of this fiasco and step back.

IMHO there is really nothing more that can be done. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink (unless your name is monster ;) ) Nobody is going to win in this situation but maybe just maybe the people who need help the most can now get it.

I also apologize to those of you who could care less about this situation. In a wierd kind of way by posting here it is my way of releasing some stress on the matter. :o

No need to apologize - I'm fascinated by this and kinda wish I knew more of the story (but no need to elaborate - I know this stuff is personal) How ballsy was it for you to have MIL/FIL on speakerphone without BIL knowing?? I'd say very ballsy! Did MIL/FIL question why you were doing that?

This place is a great place to vent. I've done that, as have others, so you're in good company here. :)

Don't worry about it. It's how we roll around here sometimes.

Apologize? I was hoping you'd post it to YouTube! :)

I rolled the dice. I called fil a couple seconds before getting bil in my office and asked him to hang tight for a bit. I then turned the phone volume to off not to be confused with mute so if they spoke up we could not hear them. Nobody had time to question anything. From bil vantage point the phone is hidden behind my pc monitor. When my conversation with bil ended I then turned up the volume on my phone. I had no idea if there would be anybody on the other end. Thankfully they didn't hang up or I would have ended up looking like a huge dumbass. MacGyver would have been proud. :p

Certainly, I can't blame you for posting anything here in a venting way (see any posts from the last few months :o ). It's a good community here who will give you encouragement or feedback.

Not to worry. We've all used the lodge and the board as a place to get things off our chest, ask for advice and offer encouragement. Last year when my mom was sick and ultimately passed, this group was very cathartic and it seriously made a difference.
I'm glad you have (hopefully) found a good breaking off point for the madness you've been dealing with. Hold your head up. Your setting a good example for your boys at this pace.

The great thing about a message board is that if people don't care about the situation, they can just skip over those posts.

I always like posting here, a good chance to vent and usually a decent place to get advice.

Cable guy was surprisingly here very shortly after 1pm. Also, I found some Mrs. Grass' Soup in the cupboard - 3 boxes of it! I'm pretty sure Mrs. Grass' is the cure for the common cold. Hopefully I'll be feeling better soon-ish. At least by the draft tonight... I have lots more work to do picking players and such :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

Signed and turned in my new Lease for the next year.

No rent increase and $50 off October. So that's nice of them considering the economic times.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

While biking I stopped off here today http://www.lolacookies.com/. I have now learned that one shouldn't eat cupcakes while bike riding, especially chocolate ones with chocolate frosting.

One is never too old to learn new things. :D
