Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

And some states are in better situations than others. I think in some ways Mass lucked out, if you could call it that. FTA rejected the state Transportation Improvement Program, the bond bill was on recently reauthorize so for a year nothing got done. It just so happens that not to long after stuff gets rolling the ARRA funds came thru and was able to address the backlog of stuff.

Can you have Mass send some funding to Minnesota?

Well if more people took public transportation there wouldnt be so much congestion. :)

Good luck getting people to use more public tranportation. They would rather ***** about traffic congestion. :D

As you probably know I was one of the designers on the Light Rail Transit project in the Twin Cities. Hopefully soon they will add to it.

That is very true, maybe a career change if staying in the Twin Cities is the main priority for you. I know that would be unfavorable with all the time and experience you have put into your work/ education but dont you want to be miserable like gman too? :)

It's not easy to basically throw away 18 years of effort (school and work experience). But I'm very close to be willing to be unemployed for awhile if that is what it takes.

BTW, I've done an extend stay assignment in a different city for the company each of the last three years. I've been a team player. At some point enough and enough.

Get a blow up doll or sheep if that's how you roll. :p

Why? They are good time girls in St. Louis. (Although I know from personal experience that sex is better when you're in a relationship).

The weird thing is I like the work I do. Normally people change jobs because they don't like the work they're doing. Oh well.

Hi.

I have the PK ditty in my head.

All day. One of you is going down.

I don't know that that's the case necessarily these days. One of my bosses has just resigned from the firm (subsequently saving my job, which is nice, for now). She loves working with the Unions and her clients, but she works close to 100 hours a week (including straight though almost every weekend). She's not as young as she was and is really striving to start a family. She's just decided that she can't work this kind of schedule and achieve family goals.

All day. One of you is going down.
 What will Mrs. Jon say!?
heh.

Well played... *slow applause*

She'll say I never should have gone to the GLA if that was going to happen.

But hey, I saw PC win at someplace other than the Coffin And I saw MEg make midget jokes about Jeff Lerg - I'm not sure I"ll ever be able to wrap my head around that one...
but now that I know I can blame ctf, it's all good.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

BTW, Do you plan on making it back at all this season for a Vikings game? If so let me know maybe we can cheer on the Purple together sometime.

I can't wait to see AP run all over the Ravens D (that was for a certain Wolverine and trumpet fan). :p

I dunno if I'll be able to...I'd really like to. Especially if it means a certain Wolverine fan cries. :)

:) Hooray for happy people.

don't get me wrong. I'm still cranky, hateful, and want to hammerpunch people every single day.

and you're to blame for not living where it is. :p

who wants to live on Highway 55? Seriously.

The GLA? :p

You also have a {PROVICED shirt thanks to the GLI. :D

I am not looking forward to it being built down Washington Ave.

At all.

I find the U's beeching about ZOMG NO LRT ON TEH WASHINGTON incredibly amusing, just like when Xcel beeched about the Hiawatha Line on 5th St. :p Having said that, the line should really go up University and 4th to the pedestrian/ex-rail bridge east of the 10th Avenue bridge, and skip the Washington bridge altogether.

Evening, Lodge. Annoying rainy day, but a brewpub dinner and beer made it better. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

See that's the thing everybody see all the things I'm getting to do and thinks I'm lucky. But they're just a few hours of distraction till I'm miserable again. Life isn't about how many things you get to do it's about having somebody/people to enjoy life with. That doesn't happen when you're away from everybody you care about and can't develop meaningful relationship because you're constantly not where you want to be.

Exactly. You work to live. You don't live to work. Trust me I'm really close to pulling the plug on my current work assignment and finding out if they will lay me off.

One of my patients looked at me once and told me she was going to live in a state where the people worked to live and didn't live to work. I have never forgotten that. I gave up a much higher paying job to work where I am now and haven't had a raise in a 'few' years. I am much happier. You need to plan before you pull the plug tho.

What kind of brewpub dinner?

Amen.

Evening, Lodge. Another day of demonstrating in the hardlines dept, but steak, ratatouille, and quinoa more than made up for it. Tomorrow, 20 mile run in the morning...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.

somebody's outbidding me on a 2002 blank (no name number) Authentic Providence Friars jersey on eBay :(

If you want a jersey and make somebody's night tough bid more than 93 dollars (yeah, I'd might go a little higher but i'm still waiting for my first paycheck).
