Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 84: Steal This.
Hello Lodge.
At my parent's place for the weekend, bored as hell. Today was interesting, we spent the day helping an old guy (the same who gave me the plat book) clean out his house for an auction. It was a complete mess and he had more stuff packed in that place than anyone could immagine. Some stuff was awesome, and other stuff was just disgusting, like the canned vegitables from the 40's in the basement. Some of the cool stuff we found:
Miniature comemorative crock (little brown jug) with Minnesota and Michigan on it, from the 40's
The 50th anniversary Sears master catalog, in perfect condition, I think it was from 1923
A box full of land deeds from the late 1800s
A Ford Motor Company parts pricing booklet, from 1920, in mint condition
Minneapolis Tribune papers from: D-day, Battle of the Bulge, V-E day, V-J day, Kennedy's Assassination, and the moon landing
A Winchester 38-40 rifle, with an octagon barrel
About 30 Red Wing Stoneware crocks of various sizes
Tonka trucks from the 40's
I am not looking forward to it being built down Washington Ave.
At all.
That one is a horrible idea, the whole thing is just dumb.
