Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather
Well, pull up a chair and let me tell you about "70's" music.
There are a few "older" posters in here, so I'll throw out a few more names that some of you whippersnappers may not recognize, but should listen to if time permits. (I've seen them all live)
Yes
Jethro Tull
Wishbone Ash
The Tubes
Nectar
Montrose
Chick Corea
Mahavishnu Orchestra
There's more to "classic rock" than:
Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
The Who
The Kinks
The Animals
Grateful Dead
Lynyrd Skynyrd
ELO
etc.
^ Saw all of them live too
Todd has been a favorite of mine for many years. I first saw him in 1975 on his "Another Live" tour with his band at the time, Utopia. The show tomorrow night is one of seven or so he's doing in the states. He actually reunited Utopia, and the first 35 minutes of the show is a return to his hits. After an intermission, Todd and Co. will perform his album
A Wizard A True Star in it's entirety. It's a complete retro show, with the original outfits they used to wear and all the campiness that goes with a '70's rock show. Naturally I won't be under the influence of the same substances that fueled my vigor in the '70's, but a couple of martini's and some, well, other stuff and it's best if I have a driver.
I realize you were probably being facetious, but as you can see, I'm pretty passionate about some of the old stuff I grew up on.
