Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Luckily, I foresaw such a contingency, and have been applying for a full-time Air Force job this year, which I just learned has been offered to me! I will be moving the tribe to Colorado Springs and starting as a history (asst.) professor at the Air Force Academy in January. In addition to having classrooms full of captive audiences that are ordered to listen to my ramblings, I'll get to conduct flight instruction every other day in their two-seat Katana aircraft. And I haven't even mentioned seeing Division I hockey! (I hear there may even be other D-I teams in Colorado.)

are you going back on active duty or are you going as a civilian instructor??
that is very very cool. and yes, there is >some< hockey there!!!!!!!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

WTW : need to buy a house? close to the Academy. well, sorta.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

I need to find the closest place to buy lottery tickets, cuz I would really enjoy that jackpot. A lot.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

On one hand I would think you'd never see my butt again, but on the other hand I'd be able to visit every single one of you personally.

And I'd host a Frozen Four. In a rink in my back yard. I'd have $100 million+ to play with. I'd be able to do it.

Awesome. FF at Hammer's! I love it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

You don't understand. We could sit on my back deck and watch the Frozen Four in person.

EDIT: Monster must be at a certain H.S. football game.

EDIT 2: ****. If he did, he's not going to be pleased when he gets back.

I wouldn't build my house there.

On August 30th the projected high here is going to be 63 degrees, with lows in the 40's the next two nights.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Well, someone has a little extra time on his hands. :)

Raining in Boston. Getting ready for a super soaker day tomorrow. It's kinda chilly here tonight. No sleeping with the windows open tonight.

ASaaG: Yes I am!

Hey, Lodgetonians, lots of stuff going on this week! Disclaimer: Please move on to the next post if you care little for the comings and goings of an obscure man in West TX whom you've never met.

My job flying helicopters for the hospital is coming to an end, as my employer was outbid by another flight operation. The new company is trying to keep our same people on board, but their offer to me is a steaming pants load (basically: either move to Clovis, NM, or see your family for only 4-5 days per month).

Luckily, I foresaw such a contingency, and have been applying for a full-time Air Force job this year, which I just learned has been offered to me! Of course there is a downside, which is the waning applicability of my username. But Colorado Wolverine just doesn't have a good ring to it, and so I expect I'll leave WTW alone.

And to make things even better: it's Friday, Amazon just delivered my Oxford Latin Grammar and Steven Hayward's The Age of Reagan (vol. 2: 1980-89), and the beer store is open.

Now it is the time on Sprockets when we dance!
Congrats WTW! :)

Frozen Four at your place? Awesome. I'll bring sandwiches.

Good night all.
once again, nice work, WTW!

Cool day in 231-land. Got home tonight and remade my banana-cranberry-nut muffins, which I remembered to bake at the right temperature this time...

Congratulations WTW! Sounds like you're happy with this next step. Good for you and yours! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

I matched 3+0 in Mega Millions, good for $7. I've invested $15 in the past 3 draws, so it beats nothing, I guess.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Where is everyone!!??

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! silly saturday is here.

Wet one! Danny fell apart to a tropical depression but I need to drive into the flooding rains for a bridal shower.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 81: Trickle-Down Lodganomics

Morning Lodge.

I need to spend all morning packing....but motivation is tough.

Waiting around for Racecar to call and figure out what we're doing tonight, but one thing is for sure, going to German Park. I missed the first 2 times this year, so today is my last chance to enjoy Spaten by the bucket at German Park. mmm. :D

I hope everyone has a great weekend.
