Amen to this. I had to drive a halfway broken Jeep until 2011 simply because of that age rule.

There is no such thing as a halfway broken Jeep.

Alternatively, ALL Jeeps are halfway broken by definition.

I push the speed limit at 7 or 8 miles over it.. Other than that not much of a dangerous driver. Went through a small period of time where I would text while I drove and realized how stupid that is and have improved greatly on that.

Goldy, when's the last time you didn't drive 5 under the speed limit?;)

Around this area, with 55/65 speeds, I'll usually go around the speed limit, in the overly rural areas 60 (55 zone) and the interstates here in the NE around 110 km/h. 70 and 75 if I'm ever in those states (only been there on two trips) I will go that speed, as the limit actually makes sense. I will use the 2m radio in the car. It is still legal.

On the interstates I am typically 8-15 MPH over the limit. On state highways, typically 8 over. On city streets at or under the limit. In many years of driving I have NEVER received a moving violation. I have received 5 warnings and on two occasions I very much deserved tickets but got away with a warning. Must be my honest, lovable face, eh? ;)

I have one significant accident when I was teen that was my fault and one minor fender bender (actually didn't bend the fender) that was my fault as an adult. I got hit backing out of a parking space in a parking ramp a year ago that was technically my fault since I was backing out, but she was speeding and inattentive to hit me.

I never text and rarely use the phone while driving.

Have the capacity to text you and actually sending texts to you are two entirely different situations.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

I never text and rarely talk on the phone while driving. Driving a manual makes sure of it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

I text at stoplights, nothing more. Have been in 2 accidents while driving, both weather related (hydroplaned on a rainy day doing the speed limit/one car accident; sideswiped a guy in a blizzard in the company vehicle, hit some black ice). Insurance said no-fault both times as I was doing the limit or under, acceptable to weather conditions).

I speed, I suppose. Usually 5 over, until 75. Then it might be 10 over, depending on traffic flow.

Clean record minus two fixit tickets. One for a broken tail-light which I knew about and had appt to fix it when I was pulled over, and one for license plate on the dashboard due to lack of front fixture. To be fair, I didn't know the fixture law, and the cop was a young hard-arse with something to prove. Really bad attitude. Smaller city (at the time) to boot: Monticello before the population expansion.

Good morning Lodge. Greetings from the Philadelphia airport. It's one of my least favorite airports in the country. Poorly laid out, security was a nightmare, lack of decent food places for breakfast. Thankfully it's a nice day and my flight appears to be on time. For now.

Heading straight to the office when I land and I just realized that I forgot my work ID at home. Crap, and my T pass.

I barely remember Philly airport and I've used it a number of times over the years.

The security guards won't shoot you if you show up without an ID will they? BTW, did you get some ice cream yesterday?

At least it's not like going into a civilian building that is partially rented by dept of state or the military... I don't think I've ever needed to be asked for my reason to visit when going to the dentist.

(None of your **** business, its a civilian building is what is like to answer.)

Good Morning, Lodge!

Nice humid day here south of the river.
Is the fog still pea soup thick down there?

So it's no secret that I'm a fat, fat man. On the bus, if I get a window seat the aisle seat next to me tends to be one of the last seats filled. Well, today I had an aisle seat, and with my sling (and this may be the last day I'm in it) I'm a good few inches wider than normal. Well, Big Bertha's larger sister was stuck with the seat next to me. The woman was so large that she had to ride it in a side-saddle fashion because she couldn't fit into it the normal way. This caused the back of her armpit to rub up against my arm during the ride, and while it's now 2.5 hours later I can still smell it. I might need to pick up a can of that Axe Italian Shower spray during lunch today.
