Morning.

I don't go to DD for anything but donuts (usually the donut holes). Their coffee is shit. So I doubt I'll ever try their new sammich.

As for Goldy coming out east, I have a better chance of meeting his wife or son than him. He seems to avoid the trip to the relatives.

Having some skin tabs removed tomorrow. Yay for needles and knives! High probability I will have the ones on my face removed. Depends if the outcome is scarring or what. I think I'd rather live with the tab then have ugly scars.

Scarlet, all of those gift items are sold out. Must have been Hoven's fault.

This town is on suicide watch now due to the Pens.

All right, here's my Jimmy Fund story to lighten your mood. Not a big deal, but here it is:

My freshman year at BU I went to a Sox game. My Mass-born Greek-American friend (who when I first got on USCHO I thought might be the poster Scarlet) -- (and who's middle name is Diana, of course; she has four Uncle Georges) got her dad's Polaroid seats, so we had free (and great) tickets.

There was a big pre-game Jimmy Fund thing on the field. Me being from Indiana I didn't know lots of things and I sure didn't know about the Jimmy Fund, so I asked about it. My friend says, "It's the Red Sox charity. Named for a kid with cancer." "Oh," I said. Then I saw a kid running around on the field, so I said -- with complete sincerity -- "Is that Jimmy? Hey, Jimmy!" She almost *died*. Punched me *hard* in the shoulder. "You jerk! He died years ago! What's wrong with you!" Etc. Then she saw my humble hayseed face and realized I was just dumb, so we cracked up.

Jimmy was alive at that time.

This one was, though. Well, maybe not exciting, but it was a great trip. Got to see and hang out with many of you. Met Dave St paul. bbd_l wore a BU jersey and posed with Rhett. Mini donuts.

Nonsense. The games are exciting, meeting me is not.

I've got to be honest... the 2nd biggest highlight of my Frozen Four experience (besides actually being there) was meeting Scarlet!

I convinced myself I had to hunt her down at the Consol Center because I wouldn't be able to live with myself otherwise. I was so excited when I found her that I didn't even realize mookie was standing right there too! Nor can I remember who the other 2 or 3 people were.

She was probably thinking "who is this frumpy old guy in a Quinnipiac jersey?"...

When I was in willimantic during grad school I'd go the the local cumby's on a regular enough basis... One night the girl there (kinda cute) said she felt like she was going to get robbed that night... Thankfully it never happened.

People suck, sad but incontrovertible fact of life.

Awww, you guys.....you're making me blush. I truly enjoy getting a chance to meet you guys. And gals. I feel very fortunate that I am able to travel to these games on a regular basis. It's fun.

So, today my cousin graduated from MIT Sloan - got his MBA. Today at 3pm was a convocation ceremony at the Wang Center (large theater downtown) and tonight was a reception at the Prudential Center Skywalk. He got 4 tickets to the convocation so my parents went with my aunt and uncle. He only got three tickets to the reception tonight so I got to go to that. I called my aunt last night and told her I was working till 5pm and would go to my usual post work Thursday drink with some co-workers and would meet her at the Prudential Center at 6:30. I head over to hottie bartender's bar with my friends and am taking my first sips of a glass of wine and I see my aunt has called me. Now, mind you, the Wang Center, my office and the Prudential Center are all in the same general area and walking distance from each other.

I text my aunt and said that I saw that she called, what's up? She answers "We're at your door." I text "What door?" She, my uncle and my parents are at my office. I thought my folks were supposed to head home. I text back that I've already left and am with friends having a drink and I WILL MEET YOU AT THE PRUDENTIAL CENTER LIKE WE PLANNED. Well, not in caps, but that's what I felt. So what happens? 10 minutes later who walks into the restaurant and up to the bar? MY MOTHER. And my aunt. It was like Worlds colliding!!! I introduced her to hottie bartender and my friends and asked "Where's dad?" "Oh he won't come in." One of my friends asked her "How did you find her here?" and she says "I'm her MOTHER." Oh lordy. I mean really. What part of "I will meet you at 6:30" did they not get?
