Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

Greetings Lodge. rainy, cold, raw Monday here in 617-ville. Gross.

les, I feel your pain. Literally. :(

Now that Notre Dame is in, that could mean a bigger market for which to sell my two tickets I got through the lottery! I have another one for me. Now to think about what to pack. No BU stuff needed! ::sob::

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

thanks all. still :( Lots of hearbreak for HEA, eastern bias. ND was never HE so they don't count. It was cool to see how well our team traveled. Sea of blue. A few yrs ago that wouldn't have happened.
Good Morning Lodge!

That's the best way That way, chances are you aren't gonna mess it up. Sucks, but that's being an adult and doing things right.

Yeah, but it is not supposed to take 2 years to renovate a bathroom. I get to a job that I dread (like sheet rock) and I ignore the project for 3 months. :p

This is when the tolerant wife calls contractors and gets estimates :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

THat is really creepy. Even with you describing it trying to make it sound OK>
Yeah, I keep trying to rationalize, but it's creepy. I popped by the main office today to pick up a package and just remarked to the secretary that maybe they just need to remind the repair guys that they should call me first. (Matt is never home when they come and I'm the default person to contact on the lease).

Rainy day here. Watching the BU games that I tivo-ed this weekend. Got to watch the Lowell game (sorry guys, we were pulling for you) and DU game yesterday. Booked our car for our summer vacation. Made our reservation at Lola in Cleveland. We are officially on our way to an awesome 2 week trip. :D (we booked our flight back a few weeks ago already).

In update news, grandma 'ewe was moved to hospice during the day yesterday. She had 2 terrible nights of respiratory distress before one of my uncles did the right thing. She's on nebs, morphine, and nitroglycerin to help with her breathing. Per my cousin, she's been "sleeping" since they finally helped her breathing yesterday afternoon. They're worried she won't wake up, I don't have the heart to correct them that she's probably in a coma (and finally comfortable) and that it would be a blessing for her if she didn't wake up. Called my mom yesterday to see how she's doing and she sounded sad, resigned, and tired (she finally went home after being in Baltimore for about 10 days leading up to grandma's discharge from the hospital). She sounds tired, but my dad is happy she's back (he's selling his MD practice this weekend and she manages the money part).

Bought a new computer yesterday. And printer. And an iPad. My Dell laptop is dying a slow death. Changing gears and bought a MacBook. I figure between that, my iPhone, iPad and AppleTV, it would help for all things to be able to talk together. I also am having the Geek Squad come in to set it up, help me transfer some of the stuff on my laptop, etc. I can probably get it 80% complete but I know I would screw up one thing and then get stuck and get frustrated.

Wow. That is a lot of stuff in one weekend. :(

Agreed. I dread if grandma dies and the funeral is this weekend. Matt and I have plans to do some shopping for our MiM trip (Memphis in May), but nothing that can't be rescheduled. The sale of my dad's practice is happening regardless as it has been planned for months.

I should get my butt to the store to grocery shop so that I can come home and read in this dreary weather since I've been looking forward to it (ordered 3 books that should arrive today), but instead I'm reading here and playing with the Disney vacation calculator (I may take Matt away for his birthday to Disney for Food and Wine festival and Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party if the cost is right).

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Thoughts heading to you and your family 'ewe.

Home sick today. Usually when I get sick it goes from head to lungs. This time it went from lungs to head. More than likely stressed induced. Either way, just relaxing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

We just had a Tuesday on a Monday here in the office. We're supposedly a team of 8 people, down three people due to all them finding different jobs in a short mount of time. One of our guys is on PTO today and tomorrow, and a couple of us are sick and showing up because the department would be royally hosed if we both missed work the same day.

Add to that, a data transmission system received an update over the weekend and it didn't go as smoothly as one would hope. It's the big dividends payable date of the month today (normally the 25th of any month, or the first business date after the 25th), and the system upon which our dividend information arrives is the one that had the upgrade. Add to that, some other people (end users) who screwed up how they get data long ago, and were able to get by based upon pure dumb luck, lost out when this update happened, so we heard about it from them because we almost weren't able to place our mutual funds trades on time today - huge market risk.

All of that came crashing down upon my team's collective head at 8:45AM today, and about an hour ago it was finally laid to rest. It's fun to have the Director of Trust Ops having a little chat with your boss in the middle of a work day like that, let me tell you.

I've been doing this a lot lately too, but rather than Disney, I mess around with Matrix ITA by Google for flight searches. :o
