you're just doubling down... in terms of major american cities they are kinda unique
Today at work is dragging. To make it worse, I received an email from my cell phone provider that I hit my data limit yesterday (2GB), after receiving an email on Saturday around 5:00PM that I'd used 1.8GB of my data for the month. The really confusing part is that from around noon Saturday until leaving the house this morning, my cell phone had been connected to my home LAN, and I hadn't used my phone with exception to three text-only text messages between my brother and me. I have to stop off at a local store to get this squared away. Worst case scenario, my monthly reset occurs on 12/21.
This weekend was far too boring. People were driving like idiots on Saturday when I ran my errands. We had cleared, dry pavement for all the main roads where I live by around 10:30 yet people were still driving like we had 3" on the pavement. I had no intention of going crazy because black ice was still a serious thought in my mind, but 35 in the 50 with no way to pass drew my ire more than I'm comfortable admitting. Because of that, I decided to skip seeing Star Wars in the theater yesterday and will wait until Tuesday night to see it. Avoiding spoilers has proved to be a challenge, almost like trying to watch a tape-delay of the Super Bowl without knowing any details beforehand.
Also, I shut off cellular service to pretty much every app on my phone, so when I'm not on wireless and need to use my data, I go into Settings>Cellular and turn on the app(s) I want to use and then shut off when I'm done. It's an extra couple of steps but it has helped me to not go over my data limit once I learned that trick. The only two I keep on are Settings and my FitBit.
Edit: Oh, I thought this was for work cell phones. I'm glad I'm still on AT&T's old unlimited plan for my personal phone.
Or just enable smart data...
I've never even heard of this option. Is it an Android thing or a carrier thing?
Its an option on Verizon. I just looked on my Verizon app, on here it is called "safety mode", though I've seen it as smart data before too. Just enable it, and you won't get data overages anymore. Go to My Verizon App, then to the "DataHub" tab. Scroll all the way to the bottom, and you have an option to enable "SafetyMode".
I'm glad I'm still on AT&T's old unlimited plan for my personal phone.
Good morning to tLodge!
