Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #188: Hockey Is The Real Politics

Happy turkey day Lodge.

We invited some friends over today and we ate before kick off. I prepared a turkey breast via the smoker. Also cooked a ham plus we had all the traditional sides. Everything turned out awesome. Good food and even better company and the Vikings continued their NFL dominance.

Happy T-Day!

Great meal with the family. Future SIL absolutely nailed the mashed potatoes (mom always made them with lumps and no garlic :( ). Turkey was excellent, and I got my radishes (I only eat them at holiday dinners; tradition).

FINALLY found a beer that my mom actually liked enough to have a full glass and not just a sip: The Bruery's Or Xata. Tastes like rice pudding. She drank the hell out of that beer. It's been a 2 year challenge at holidays, and I finally got to say: Told ya I'd find one for ya.

After the bro/FSIL/nieces left, watched Deadpool with the parents. Now, you can all probably estimate their age knowing about how old I am, and they liked it quite a bit. Even laughed out loud a few times. This is why my parents rule. :)

Cc to scarlet, there seems to be A LOT OF SCREAMING KIDS here at the Friendship Four, should BU be invited and you decide to come over.

That's the plan for 2018. Not sure I want to go now. I can just go to a game at Merrimack if I want to see screaming kids at a game. :)

Honestly, I would highly recommend it. My Dad and I have really enjoyed it so far.

We're actually going to be shown on a broadcast here locally. Had a film crew interview us before the game.

My job is to be here for production support purposes. My job loses all meaning on days like today when only half the staff is in the office for the production teams, and none of the analysts are in to allow me to provide project testing help. This is as boring as a sober baseball game.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #188: Hockey Is The Real Politics

Spent early afternoon learning to make a beef vegetable soup from my mom. Came home, found out Star Wars is on TBS. Yay! On my couch. Empire Strikes Back is on after and Return of Jedi on after that.

Got my credit card bill and noticed a charge for one of the hotels I stayed at in Michigan. Which wouldn't be a bad thing except for the fact that I used hotel points for it. I called, the girl at the desk looked at my reservation and couldn't figure it out. She's looking into it and will call me back.

Also watching Empire on TBS until the Gophers game starts. Hopefully the stream can handle the traffic that will be logging on.

*HT.

Terrible day. Got shut out on a rare beer, boring day at work (MIND-NUMBING), and now this. Ugh.
