Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

So, my boss wants us to take a quick trip to Lake Placid. Neither she nor my co-worker has any interest in taking the best route, which is an 8-seater prop plane to Saranac Lake. Quick, gets us closest. I've done it. It's totally safe. There is a flight from Boston to Plattsburgh, which is about an hour away. It's a bigger plane, not by much but enough to ease their concerns. However there are only two direct flights, one at 2pm, one at 5pm. They want to go in the morning and fly back the next afternoon. There is no way to do that. You should see some of the connections - three different ones. It would be faster to drive, which they both considered. But it's 5+ hours. They're getting annoying about it.
Do they allow babies on the 8-seater? ;)

It's the Northeast, anything over 90 minutes is long and arduous...

In the last few weeks I have been to PA and MD to watch lil run. This weekend I drove an hour to take pics for the HS kids and I felt like it took 2 seconds to get there :p

Done day trips to both Green Bay and Grand Forks. Leave early in the morning, get back late night. It isn't that bad, and that isn't even staying the night.

Done the "suicide day" to Fairbanks. Go up in the morning, drive 6-7 hours, watch game, drive back that night. Wouldn't recommend it though.

Glad I wasn't home combining today. My dad posted a picture on the facebook. Ran a deer through the corn head. Apparently, the deer just ran straight down the row, and right into him, nothing he could do to stop it. Had to cut it out with a knife.
Nasty mess!! You think it would have been able to see that and gotten itself turned around.

Our beans got taken out last week Wednesday. I got out and walked the driveway a little to get some exercise, still recovering from a hernia surgery a week ago. Watched as the idiot driving the grain truck snaked the truck around out in the road to back it up in our driveway. The outfit that does our field must not keep their guys that long, because I'm pretty sure somebody would remember that we have a big turnaround with a big round pen that a semi can easily get around on it.

5 hours?? that's nothing!!!! drive there, spend the day, stay the night, and then drive back the next day. It's an easy road trip.

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Good Morning Lodge.

Hey, how come you lost your position? The store is being remodeled, but still there. Won't they sill need managers?

It's not a remodel, but a whole new store is being opened just as the old store is being closed. Everyone was required to apply and interview for spots at the new store. Those who were not offered a spot at the new store were given the option of transferring to a different store or taking a severance package (one week of pay for each year of service).

Officially, It's a new prototype store with a restaurant and the district manager and regional VP wanted a more experienced management staff to deal with all the corporate and publishing VIPs who are expected to visit regularly.

My personal opinion, not surprisingly, slightly differs. Regardless, I'm just being transferred to a different store at the end of this week and could not be happier about it.

Voted this morning. No line, as usual. Don't much care about the president, we're ****ed either way, since both are ****ing terrible, so voted 3rd party. More importantly, voted for the local good guys that are fighting to keep the god**** MET council out of our local city business.

I voted. No line. It's great as always. I actually drove past at least one other voting location that was a quarter mile from my house. My voting location is about a couple miles away. Weird.

I'm voting when I get home. This will be the first time since moving to Farmington that I'll have two consecutive votes in the same location.

We have 2 polling places, across the street from each other...very odd.
