Good Morning Lodge.

Airport temp is 37 but there was frost on the grass at the office.

Many on my Facebook page seem to be precious little snowflakes who need a hug. Time to put on your big boy or big girl pants and deal with it, sheesh.

maybe they just want a hug... I dunno... I'll be interested in seeing how many federal employees carry through on their threat to quit as has been noted in a poll or two

Half. The other half tried to commit suicide.

The stupidity is amazing.

I de-linked a couple of twitter streams this morning... mostly beer related ones that ought to be otherwise neutral who are instead assuming that now everybody who looks funny will be burnt at the stake

I need a hug. I'm tired of fighting and losing. I'm tired of being more qualified than my Trump-esque operations manager, but not listened to because I have boobs, and not a *. I am trying to figure out how to pull myself together in the next 10 minutes to not look like the total wreck I feel like when I walk into my daily meeting.

So, yeah, I'm a precious little snowflake that needs some time to mourn before regathering strength to face what I gotta face.

There, now it can be on your USCHO page and your Facebook page. You're welcome.

I have had 11 employers since I graduated. If the job sucks so much, find another and leave. If that means changing states the do that. I've lived in four different states since graduation. I'm finally at an awesome company who treats people the right way and does business the right way, but it took a long time to find this place.

The political stuff is background noise. When Regan got elected he was going to get us all killed by starting a nuclear war with Russia, both Bushes similar, Slick Willy was going to make us a socialist state and Obama was going to make us a Muslim socialist state. It's all BS. The country won't Chang dramatically because there's a new politician living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. So, yeah, put on your big girl pants and get over it.

what he said.

go over the dude's head. if you want to hear "that's what a guy would do", then hear it. people who are quiet and go along get what they ask for. smart talented people get noticed and get offers.

I don't think it'll happen much here... the organization tends to be apolitical because of the nature of the job... more technical science than other things. But I could see true believers jumping out of some of the other agencies

And the telemarketers are out in full force. Perfect morning to do this, folks. Bring it. :D

I can respect somebody who is confident and dead on the money on work issues as long as they're human in the more relaxed times.

I'll admit that having a girl that's better than me usually raises my competitiveness streak but that's also why being human in the lighter moments helps. Line out the pros and cons... the right org when you're in the trenches the colleagues will support you because they'd rather get it right than have to deal w nonsense.

A-****ing-men. We were screwed regardless with these candidates, but in the end, nothing will actually change. Rinse, wash and repeat in 4 years.

As mr les said after last night's results, at least we can get high legally when things get bad.

Until your funding gets cut.

Morning Lodge. Scared for my kid who is of an age to be drafted when the world explodes and who is majoring in a topic that the soon to be prez doesn't believe is legit. :(

The military's brass doesn't want a draft and will argue against any politician insistent on re-instituting one. Don't fret over it too much.

Agreed. I can't see anyone going down that route, regardless of who is president. Especially considering, if we were to get into a major war, it would be over and the planet will be destroyed before anyone could even even contemplate a draft.

Besides that, Trump has too many international suppliers. He needs to keep those Chinese factories producing if his "Make America Great Again" hats are going to stay on the market.

This thought crossed my mind too as my son is a senior in high school, but I agree that it's unlikely to ever happen.

I remember being told every 2 years from 2000-2008 that in no uncertain terms that the draft was coming back.

Stuff it.

Edit: if I have to withhold my hysterics then so should you.

Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!

The Lodge is starting to turn a bit ugly, folks. Everybody take a big, deep breath. Now exhale, and start onto some new topics.

Well, the nausea I feel from the stress has decreased my appetite. Good for wt loss. I am eternally grateful I am not working in practice right now. The number of people coming in for anxiety and depression is ridiculous right now.
