Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Working from work today. It's in the 70's and sunny. Production has gone home. There are 8 people in the office.

I like to take a book to the park at lunch time and sit by the river bank. It was difficult to return to the office.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

At the office all by myself today. You can guess my motivation level right now. It's pretty close to my level of productivity. I may take a nap. We'll see.

Today was Tuesday for me. No need to say more... :(

Boo.

Waiting for a load of sheets to finish drying, then I'm going to walk to the supermarket and buy some fruit to take with me to the beach tomorrow. And maybe a few snacks. Then I'm going to walk to Coldstone to get an ice cream. Seems like a night for an ice cream.

Boo, and I'm thinking my Friday/Tuesday was not as bad.

Ended up working a full day b/c stupid reasons. I don't want to deal with people tonight. Just chilled on the patio, having a wonderful beer that tastes like rice pudding (The Bruery's No Xata: blonde ale jacked up with rice, and has vanilla/cinnamon/lactose added).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Good thing we're not people! :p

:D

There's actually a book I just read on introverts, and the internet is not really "dealing with people." The user controls the input/"outside noise" that introverts have a hard time dealing with. ;)

So, it's dealing with people, but it's not a face-to-face thing, and it's easier to manage/deal with. If y'all were at my place tonight, well, I wouldn't be as sociable. Needed a break tonight. :)

Morning, Lodge!

I get to start the day by going to the DMV to renew my license. Never got a notice. Expires tomorrow.

Then it's the annual FFL Draft Lotto, and after 25 years (all in the same league) I am announcing my retirement. The league overhauled the scoring; a massive overhaul, that made it more like a Yahoo league, and eliminated the K position. It's becoming a league that we have made fun of in the past. No fun anymore for me. :(

Mornin' Lodge.

Why do people have to change things that work fine? A few people weren't competing with the old rules or what?

It was always a mix, but MORE POINTS! And with the K position, some felt the position was over-valued. With the new points, the K position was actually more in line with other leagues. Still eliminated it. I didn't like the scoring changes, and despite sensical math proof proving the K position was now in line as for value, they still got rid of it. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. :(

Fun fact: despite the league being made up from the same 15 people or so (12 team league) only 2 people have been a continuous member from Day 1. I'm one of them. Some have left and come back, and some have joined later on (expansion year).

Let's put it this way, I've been playing FFL longer than some friends have been alive.

So your league finally figured out how a fantasy league is supposed to work?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Going shooting today. Need some practice before we swith over to skeet in league, since we've only been shooting trap up until now.

:D

And as for FFL, that's why I loved our league. It was different. Now, it's just like any other league out there. Yawn.

I have some buddies from college that play old school. No computers. All calculations are from newspapers with paper and pencil. For some the ffl season is a part time job. F that.
