Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Well, file this under "That explains it!"

Hellweek at work. I knew about 2 people getting fired (one for basically telling the Team Lead to F off; the other for performance issues), but apparently 2 others quit for reasons I was not told. Whee. So today, given that a couple PTers don't work on Fridays...we had 4 order pickers on the ground (non-forklift jockeys). 3 were bosses/non-regular ground pickers. Barely made it out on time.

Next week should be so fun.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

I just cracked 4000 sessions this week at work. Only took me a little over 5 years to do that. Will make for a nice little bonus coming up soon.

Is that 67 hours worth of 1 minute sessions? Or did you mean 4000 over the 5 years total?

Mornin', Lodge.

Noon service at church, then headed down the road to New Bohemia (sausage/bierhuis) since they now carry a glorious local beer (Hammerheart's barrel-aged smoked chocolate stout). The brewery is about 45 minutes away from me. This place is 5 minutes away. Simple math dictates I go to the closer place. ;)

*sigh*
I thought we were better than this... :(

It's probably a pretty good hire, but still...

I'm no Eaves apologist and I did think his time at UW had expired, but I think this is a good hire. For all my criticisms of Eaves for losing and running a boring inflexible system, he ran a clean program and was loyal almost to a fault. I think he honestly enjoyed helping players grow into quality young men and put a premium on that over some hockey related decisions.

Good Afternoon Lodge.

First run of the boat was a marginal success. Didn't hit anything, didn't sink. Also didn't catch any fish. Cloudy, light rain so not many boats out. Others didn't catch much either. Had some problems with operating and retrieving the trolling motor, think I've fixed the retrieving issue. We'll get better with practice. Fish finder/GPS worked fine. Gonna take out one or two of Jr's buddies tomorrow AM.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

A $10 day turned into a $100 day, thanks to some rare beer finds, and a kick-arse Johnny Cash t-shirt that was on sale. Oh well. 'Twas a good afternoon.

84 degrees is just fine for outside. But it is not acceptable for my living room. The air just went on for the first time this year,

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Currently 81 in my place. Love it. Usually hovers between 78-82. :)

Up at a cabin outside of Spooner this weekend. Did some fishing off the dock. A few bass, a few pike, a perch, and at least my weight in bluegills. Nothing of any size to them though. Ah well, just feels good to fish again. Been a few years.

I just can't see you as a true fisherman. :D

Bluegills are a PITA to get any meat off of, except once in awhile you get a fat one. Your weight in lake perch would've been great.

Exactly. There were a couple that were just about the size where I'll consider cleaning it, but they were so few and far between I didn't keep any of them. Just wasn't worth it. I also never hold on to pike. They just don't taste very good (unless pickled), and are also a pain with their y bones.

I forgot how much fun bass are to reel in.
