Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Good Morning Lodge.

So Jr did not participate in the senior prank, if there was one. The rumor was that a bunch of kids were going to sleep on the FB field overnight. Jr hung out with a buddy (who by the way is Korean and will be leaving shortly to do his stint in the military in S. Korea:eek:), dropped the buddy back home then drove to the school to see what was happening. Another buddy's car was the only one in the lot and he was over talking to that kid when a cop pulled in. Cop took both their IDs down and called them in for trespass, threatened that they won't be allowed to walk at graduation. So Jr was all worried about that last night (I heard he and Mrs talking at about 1:30 AM, but just closed the bedroom door so I could sleep). I told Jr this AM that if he is not allowed to walk, it's a bonus as Mrs and I won't have to sit in a stinking hot gym for a couple hours listening to the 12 () Valedictorians talk. We also will pull our names off the volunteer list for the senior party and won't have to chaperone a buss full of rowdy kids.:D

85 here. The awesome new building's HVAC system couldn't keep up with the weather. That new place is so awesome.
It looks to my like Ryan Company did the building design/build so that's to be expected. :D There is a reason that for centuries the architect/designer was separate from the Contractor - checks and balances.

Jeese RFAlph- Why not just bike before midnight?

I am all for following the law but Jeepers- sleeping on the FB field and you can't walk? Even to my rigid sense of right and wrong WTH. Of all the things they could think of that is so tame I wouldn't even consider it a prank.

Happy Birthday Shirtless Guy!

Good Morning Lodge!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

So my company just completed its 5 millionth foreign currency exchange, something in which we've been making a push and they put a small 'news' article on employee main portal site. It was done for a hockey mom whose kid is playing in the (undisclosed Canadian) junior league currently and will enter NMU as freshman player next season. I wanted to place a comment about NMU in the "social media" section of my company's site - all stories have them - but thought that might not be appreciated by the people claiming it to be a "great" school, or proud of their wife having attended the place. I wanted to ask about the number of vaccines everyone's had, but, well, that might be best saved for USCHO.

Never met her, never had a chance to take a photo. They were not at the Baccalaureate Mass and Brunch on Sunday or I would have gotten Dan to pose with his mom just for mookie. (although it's possible she is an American and it's just his dad who is Korean)

Kinda ****ed that I have to wait 45 minutes to get a haircut. Sitting at the bar next door drinking beers, waiting.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Good Evening, Lodge!

Crazy week so far at work. Trying to get everything done. It feels like per job I invoice, 2 more come in.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Back in March, I sent a note to the condo association about doing the pool rules again, plus the sign for doors leading into the pool area that had the hours on it. The woman I usually dealt with was fine with me doing it. I updated and sent to her for her to share with the trustees to OK. Then in April we get word that the management company team was all retiring and a new management company was taken over as of May 1. She said she shared the pool rules with the new management company.

We got a communication from them on May 5th. I reached out to them a week later to say I had the pool rules and signs and was it OK to distribute and post. No reply. As we were getting closer to Memorial Day, we realized that the pool cover hadn't come off yet. It usually takes a couple of weeks to get the pool ready to use. The cover finally came off on May 18th. But nothing has happened since. The water is green and gross. The pool cover is in a heap next to the pool. I followed up with the person at the management company I sent the pool rules to. Got an email saying she was waiting to hear from someone else at the association.

Today I noticed they put the grills out. And someone taped a sign on the door that said "The pool is too dirty!" Well no **** Sherlock. It hasn't been treated yet. I sent an email to the someone else at the association and said I wanted to get the rules distributed this weekend before the pool opens as I'm going on vacation next week. I don't think the pool is going to be ready this weekend so maybe it won't be a bad thing that I haven't heard, but I'd rather get it all done ahead of time.

Also, we were supposed to get a coupon book for our condo fee a few weeks ago. It's due June 1 and I'm heading out on vacation and have no idea who to pay or where to send it. We got a note yesterday that coupon books were going to be sent this week. If I don't get it tomorrow, I'm sending them a note that they're not getting payment till I get back so I better not get fined for it. I thought this new management company would be a good thing and so far, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Got an update on Pedro (my former truck driver/loader): he's somewhat awake, feeding tube, and communicating via blinks and smiles. No verbal communication yet, and brain damage (if any) is unknown. But these are big first steps. Obviously he'll never get his old job back, due to the physicality of the job, but if he gets right, that's fine by me. :)

Hell week at work. Already have 28 hours in, and apparently an employee was let go today. He was probably the most vocal about the change in the error policy, and I'm thinking it was more his attitude since then, rather than errors, but I could be wrong. I haven't had this long of a week at this point for quite a few months. Whatever can go wrong, is going wrong.

Good Morning Lodge.

So the manual for the sonar/gps on the boat is 176 pages long. May take me a while to figure everything out (at which time I'll need to shop for a replacement).
