Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Exactly. There were a couple that were just about the size where I'll consider cleaning it, but they were so few and far between I didn't keep any of them. Just wasn't worth it. I also never hold on to pike. They just don't taste very good (unless pickled), and are also a pain with their y bones.

I forgot how much fun bass are to reel in.

Dad and I had a "rule" of sorts. Minimum 6 perch, or 12 bluegill/perch mix, to bother cleaning. Otherwise, dump the bucket over the side at the end of the day.

He and my mom are the weirdos who love pike. I can't stand the d@mn things.

Morning.

The best part of buying a house I've found is that i get to buy new stuff! :D

New no-cord electric lawn mower, HE Washer, Dryer, Ladder, etc. Let the spending begin!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

84 degrees is just fine for outside. But it is not acceptable for my living room. The air just went on for the first time this year,
It was 100F when I arrived at the track meet yesterday. It was 84F at 10PM last night. Bleeding hot for this time of year. :(
Now it is a lovely 62 degrees. A week ago that would have felt tropical

That sucking sound you hear from your wallet after you buy a house....

Good morning Lodge!

Good morning Lodge and Happy Sunday. Took a walk to Dunkin Donuts and didn't bring a jacket. It was chilly! I didn't wear a jacket because last night it was so warm!!

Heading to a cookout today, but first, a pre-vacation mani/pedi. It's kinda gray and I hope it doesn't rain. This cookout is hosted by former poster Jenna, for those of you who might remember her. Not going to stay late like I usually do as I have an early flight to Vegas tomorrow.

[SUP][/SUP]101 year old house = no AC.
If it gets hot early in the summer we will put a window unit in our bedroom but haven't had to do that the past two summers.
Having the cabin helps. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Good Morning, Lodge!

I have had the air on for over a week. Mainly for allergy reasons.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

The weatherman should be shot for keeping me from going more than a few miles from home. It's a beautiful day.

OTOH, I skillfully avoided interaction with all the varoooooom-VAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM-puttt-puttts out there today. Finally after all these years I know where not to go. :)

Had a busy early afternoon, stopped by church for lunch, then it was off to a local brewery to refill a growler for the family thing later on. Talked with one of the brewers at the latter place, they are having their 2 year anniversary block party next weekend, wanted to find out more details/etc. Sounds like it'll be a blast. Live music, games, etc. They are shutting down the street, too. LTD Brewing, FYI, for the locals.

Yesterday, it was 95. A/C was on. It was an ice cream day. Today? Mid 50s. I could actually see my breath.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

The weatherman was full of **** here. The last couple of days was supposed to be low to mid 80's. It's been at least 90 the last two days. When it gets to 84 in the house, you know it's bad outside. The forecast calls for 80-82 the next couple days, and the high 50s at night, but I don't think I can trust it enough to shut the air off and just open up the windows.

Good morning Lodge. Good morning Ralph. On board my flight to Vegas! All on board early, pushing back a little early. Chat with you all when I get back.

Morning

Happy? Memorial Day! I'll probably throw in a WWII movie today.

Our weather is dictated by the depressed Bonnie in SC. Rain on and off for the next week. But still warm.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Good Morning Lodge!

Rain here. Perfect. Planted the garden this past weekend. Cooler and and rain decreases the stress on the transplants. :)

Good Morning Lodge.

Jr caught a couple nice northern pike yesterday, but neither his buddies nor I caught much. Still a good day in the boat and we're getting better at launching, retrieving and handling the boat. That's important on a busy lake on a holiday weekend. Gradually learning the boat and trailer.

Thinking of all those who served and who serve our country~ not just the people in the Services but all those who support them.
