Really good album... can't believe I did not have it.

TB Sheets was on the soundtrack to "Bringing Out The Dead" (Nic Cage, Tom Sizemore, Patricia Arquette, John Goodman, Ving Rhames, directed by Scorcese). That's where I first heard it. Great soundtrack and movie.

I really like some chill music. The people who blast crazy stuff while camping or around a fire, notsomuch. There's a time and place for everything.
Small lake where we go, only about a mile long. You can hear the people at the other end if they are only tad loud. If anyone plays music we all hear it. on a still AM you can talk to someone 4-5 docks down without raising you voice just past a whisper. Peaceful unless someone decides to not be so

Good afternoon Lodge.

A couple things about camp fires and MN state parks. 1) After 10:00 pm it's quiet time and it's enforced. 2) Firewood is ridiculous. Cannot bring your own firewood. $6 for about five pieces of wood and the wood is crap. Wet and difficult to burn. If you like to have a fire then firewood could be one of the more expensive items. g buys truckload of seasoned wood for $60. A few pieces just happen to find their way on most camp g trips.

Not the atmosphere I'd be interested in. If I'm camping I'm going to want to be drinking with buddies and probably listening to music.

Agreed. When I go camping with the guys state parks are not an option. We would be kicked out within and hour or so. There are other places besides state parks for that. However, with kids we play hard all day and the state parks meet all of our needs. At night after s'mores it's lights out so the 10:00 pm rule is a non issue.

We used to "camp" in Monticello MN (knew the owner) but created a wall of cars to help block the sound (yes it somewhat worked).

Today was a fun day. Top down, cruising the highways, jammin' to great tunes, and having a tasty brew or two.

Good morning Lodge peeps and Happy Father's Day to all the Lodge Dads!

He is living in the house he grew up in, as I am, so yes. His is on a larger, deeper pond than mine is, his is called Lake Cornelia.

Jr. intends to major in Automotive Engineering and Technology at Mankato State. He is signed up for a summer class in Macro Economics starting in July and will register at Normandale CC in the fall where they offer MSUM classes with MSUM teachers on the Normandale campus - at about $11K/yr less than Mankato. He hopes to transfer to MSUM for second or third year.

I think he may find the engineering program too difficult and think he may transfer to something finance related. He took Personal Finance, Investing and Accounting this year in high school and liked them all. His genes from mom coming out. If only he had her work ethic and attention to detail...

That's awesome to hear!!! As always let me know if you need anything or if jr. ever has questions to get ahold of me. I went through that finance program and really enjoyed the professors.

Oddly enough, I know the chairperson of the Automtive and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Department. I graduated a year after his son in high school and frequented their lake place near Mankato in the summer. He's a really great guy.

Oh, and it's Minnesota State University, Mankato now, old man!;)

Have a Happy Father's Day to you and the rest of the Dads here!

Another good veterans charity is the Fisher House Foundation. Basically they're exactly like Ronald McDonald Houses for hospitalized veterans to give their families a place to stay nearby.

I've heard of them as well. I don't know, but hopefully there is a good one that helps with PTSD.. I know that can be a huge issue for some of our veterans.

Good Morning Lodge. Happy Dads'Day.

To celebrate we're having Jr's grad party with one of his buddies. It's at the buddy's house. Need to get moving shortly to help get ready.

Happy Father's Day to those of you with little ones.

What a weekend. Probably a good thing my phone died last night, or Shenanicans would have occurred. Goodness, feeling it today after the previous 2 nights. Perfect weekend though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Talked to my dad today. He told me he was glad that I had enough sense not to drive down for the 3rd weekend in a row, just for Fathers day. :p

Afterall, I gave him his Fathers Day gift last weekend when I told him I'd decided to take over the farm when he retires.
