Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #184: The 2016 Frozen Four

I left at 2:30 same time as for years.
You may have left at 2:30 but saying good morning that early really makes me think you live in Hong Kong.

I may (or may not) have just said some foul things about a nun. :o

I've yelled at intubated/sedated patients, but this one is not. She's just a ******.

 Also, awesome. The NP tonight said of the patient, "Just because she chose to become a nun and she never got any, does not meant now she can take this out on us.

One of the nastiest patients ever in our practice was a retired nun. THere was some discussion of how she could have been a nun with the attitude and behavior she exhibited toward anyone, including other patients in the waiting room. There was no medical reason for her nastiness. Plain nasty by nature possibly compounded by feeling as a nun she had license to say what she wanted because she was to be deferred to. I did not defer and we had a rather frank discussion about her behavior. Of course, not being Catholic, I was a heretic allowing her to dismiss me.

Good Morning Lodge!

the above post is exhibit A for why being a nurse helps you have abominable grammar and sentence structure

Good Morning Lodge.

once my brother and I left for college Dad nearly never used it. It was just to difficult/pain to trailer and de-trailer solo.

Almsy makes a good point and I will take it under advisement as I shop for the boat. I was looking at two categories of boats which both met the criteria I posted before, and in the price range I had set. A pure fishing boat, very open design with just a side console, or a "Fish and Ski" which has more of a two part console, usually with more fixed seating (versus movable pedestal seats in the other style). I was torn on the Fish and Ski style because they appear to be heavier and harder to tow, but also more of a family boat where we might go cruising with Mrs and another couple. The Fish and Ski boats are typically deeper and therefore harder to jump into on launch so I will now eliminate those due to the weight and difficulty in launching.

Good morning Lodge. It's Friday - yay! It's also payday - double yay! We have a department meeting at 1:30 and then the head of our team is taking us out for drinks from 3-5 at this rooftop bar at a hotel. Conveniently I've parked at this hotel as I have Red Sox tickets for tonight. Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain this afternoon and tonight. I'll be most annoyed if she changes the location as I've told my dad to meet me at this hotel and I left my change of clothes in my car. I guess, if it moves I have an excuse to leave early. I really am not in the mood to have drinks with my team.

The only time my Mom went out on the boat was when we had my sisters family up from OH and Dad took the grandkids out on the lake. Otherwise, it just sat in the garage for 8 months of the year and annoyed her that she had to park in the driveway.

Mrs Goldy has gone out with us and has even fished a little with us. On a nice day she would be happy to ride along and catch some sun and maybe bring a book to read.

22 minutes until I leave this desk for the last time. The overly sterile new building will be my location starting Monday. it's fancy, and LEED Platinum certified, and that's all I'm allowed to say about the thing. That said...

1) The LEED HVAC system will fail if people bring in house plants because of the humidity they toss into the air. That sounds like July and August are going to be good fun.
2) It's completely removed from all the things that make a downtown Minneapolis office convenient.
3) All privacy will be lost. I have a cube between another cube that's only sporadically assigned to a temp employee, and a guy who spends 75% of his time or more in meetings. Now I'm assigned to a cube that's only little more than desk high, will be sitting behind a Millennial Hipster and next to a guy who mumbles everything he says.
4) The color scheme is light grey on slightly darker grey and one black wall on the entire floor. Oh, and there's a 70s refuse tile mosaic in the break room. Every floor is identical.
5) It's completely removed from the bus lines, so my commute will now take longer each and every day.

I'm so excited.

Low walls are supposed to promote collaboration. It's the trend!

The only thing they promote is how to best angle your monitor(s) so that your boss can't see you're surfing USCHO when you're supposed to be filling out your TPS reports. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #184: The 2016 Frozen Four

I have four walls. They create the building I'm in. :)

While I do have a co-worker around for half the day, there are some days we say hi to each other, and that's it (22.5K sq ft building). Other days, we do chat; just depends on mood and business volume.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #184: The 2016 Frozen Four

My work has low wall cubes. Drove me nuts in the call center, I didn't want to hear other people and I didn't want them to hear me. In the new job it is nice though. Lots of situations where getting another opinion is very beneficial. Especially when you're new like I am.

Come to think of it, it'll probably drive me crazy again once I'm settled.

Touche.

In addition to the benefit of no longer commuting an hour each way, this whole working from home thing makes the stress that much easier to deal with. Even today, when last week's client b*tches for assistance with defining certain items, even after I gave them best practices for doing so. *grumble*
