Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #184: The 2016 Frozen Four

goldy - We have (along with Mrs. GEs brother) a '96 17.5 Lund Tyee with a 135 Yamaha, been a fantastic boat. Light enough that my brother-in-law can tow it with his Minivan and it's a very nice ride. My guess is with a motor half that size it would be easy to two with an Outback. If/when we have to replace it I would not hesitate getting another Lund, absolutely love it and the Yamaha motor is also fantastic.

Probably more info than you need or want, but...
I am focusing on a trailerable aluminum fishing boat, 16-17 feet length, deep vee hull, console steering (which for lakes is generally side console, offshore boats tend toward center console), gas outboard motor 50-75 horsepower plus a bow-mounted electric trolling motor. Big enough to take onto larger lakes, but light enough for my Outback to tow. Enough engine to move around fairly quickly, not enough to weigh down my tow vehicle or guzzle gas. Used, several years old to keep price down. There are enough around that I should be able to find a decent deal.

You going to spring for a slip somewhere or are you just never going to use it? We had one just like you want and once my brother and I left for college Dad nearly never used it. It was just to difficult/pain to trailer and de-trailer solo.

You do know who you're talking to, right? Yacht Club, with plenty of cake for dessert.

I love being a sarcastic a**, but I'm not sure how it comes across at work. I need to find a way to be polite when asking people to fix things.

Work conversation:
Me: Have you been using these fixtures when you force test? They help keep the parts at temperature when testing.
K: No, but I've been using a big aluminum block to set them on.
Me: That's good, we also have these fixtures that go on the block and surround the part to help keep them at temp. We noticed the force data you collected changes with time, most likely because parts are cooling off.
K: You want me to change it now?
Me: Yes, I want you to follow the written procedure and obtain more accurate results.

The sky's not supposed to be pink, is it?

Red at night, sailor's delight.
Red in morning, sailors take warning.

I have seen many a pink sky, it happens. Same with pea green. The latter is something to worry about.

I may (or may not) have just said some foul things about a nun. :o

I've seen green before. That was not a good evening.

Don't feel bad. I've yelled at a deaf guy before.

A nun may have said bad things about my brother in 7th grade (Roman Catholic school). I remember this because it has become legend. He was misbehaving, and she calmly said, "Dear, you are the reasons for abortions."

I've yelled at intubated/sedated patients, but this one is not. She's just a ******.

 Also, awesome. The NP tonight said of the patient, "Just because she chose to become a nun and she never got any, does not meant now she can take this out on us.

My class got the Jr High yearbook suspended for 2 years, and my brother's class reinforced the suspension. :o Our classes were a rather rowdy bunch.
