We have to dial "991" to get out of the hospital. I misdialed on my first day. It's beyond irritating.

Hello, Lodge. Back to work after a pile weekend. 3 nights in a row and then 6 off. Looking forward to the 6 off. :)

My boss has to learn to be a leader, not a dictator. Yells at my co-worker and me for other things going on in the shop. Then yells at us for not getting our stuff done, and we are not allowed to stay late or work overtime. We look over at our boss's desk and they are there on Facebook, shopping for furniture for their house, or balancing their checkbook.

Yeah, so this is my Tuesday. As I think I've mentioned, one of the projects I've been working on is a distribution of a reusable cup to all 45K+ employees, covering ~532 offices across the US. The distribution is two-fold: 1) as part of our sustainability program, we are getting rid of Styrofoam cups and 2) the cup had our Team USA logo lock up to celebrate 100 days to the games. Things seemed to be going OK with overall distribution. I went down to the loading dock to see what cups were left over from our distribution here and while I was talking to the head of our mail services department, he got an email from an employee who asked for another one because hers was filled with oatmeal. WHAT?? I took and extra and walk it over to her desk, apologized profusely and told her I was going back to my desk and letting the vendor know immediately, etc. Get back to my desk, call my account manager at Staples, told her. Was about to take a picture to email her so she could call the vendor and yell at them when I get an email from mail services guy from the employee who now feels that it was a prank by a co-worker. I am livid. That employee needs to be reprimanded. At the very least he/she should give his/her cup to this girl. I want to bring some high end item over to her and present it to her as an apology that she has to work with an idiot and do it loudly so the pranking co-worker will feel like crap.

So to recap, I hate Tuesdays.

So I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist for used Miatas, but I just don't know if I can bring myself to trust something coming from there. So I thought of a backup plan.

Any VW Golf GTI owners here? Would likely buy new. Everything about that car makes complete sense for me - small, good gas mileage (getting sick of filling that Wrangler,) can drive it daily and hold stuff, quick enough to be interesting but not get me killed or arrested, front wheel drive (I admittedly know just enough Gran Turismo to be dangerous.) Could spring for the automatic with flappy paddles as well - wouldn't have to futz with a stick in traffic and this is one of those cars where the automatic may actually be better (it's the same dual clutch gearbox used in a lot of the Audis and the Lamborghini Huracan.)

I have an automatic with manual paddles option. I hate the manual paddles because shifting while in a turn is a real pain. If you're getting an automatic, just keep it in automatic mode.

Also, GTIs should be driven with a manual transmission.

I've only been an owner of Tiguan and Touareg, so not much help. Why not just go all out and go Golf R? ;)

Little too spendy for what I want. I just want something fun and interesting I can take on back roads through the mountains without breaking the bank, not try to become The Stig.
