Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #184: The 2016 Frozen Four
Sounds familiar, about giving "not bad" remarks, anyway. The questions were either way too general, or for the specific questions, nothing was heeded, given the "mail it in" approaches by many of the workers. We have different one-off recognition programs, but this survey is just something that they want to do in order to make the workplace more enjoyable for us - in theory. The problem is, they've made it into such a big deal, your group has to work on its lowest score, form an action plan, follow up on the plan, etc., and it just became grating. Now that we're in year 4 or 5 of this, it's moved beyond grating to just tedious. Many groups fill out the survey with overly good remarks so that they have to do less with it throughout the year. My last group, two survey years prior now, the manager got savaged by us because he deserved it. Independently, we all rated things extremely low because he'd been jerking us around all year. He ended up getting a "promotion" away from managing and is now a high level analyst of sorts. Really, it was a lateral move as the person who took over his team reports to the same manager.
