Good Morning Lodge.

Speaking of road trips - my task for this morning is to try to get out of a trip to New London, MN. Only about 2 hours out and 2 back, but I don't have the time to waste 4 hours of windshield time for a silly 45 minute meeting. Gonna try to get a video conference instead.

Have the company splurge for a chopper.

Good morning Lodge.

I have an all too typical work dilemma. Do I play ignorant and assume the processes we have in place work, or do I go find out what the **** happened because I know no one follows the processes and what little I found sure looks like production is playing the "just ship it out, don't tell quality" game? Should be a super fun day.

5 more work days until Tampa.

I hear you, wT. My current problem is I didn't put issues in writing. I did, however, tell this team that wants an all-employee gift distribution for 4/27 that in order for that to happen, certain things had to be completed by, oh, March 23rd. They were more insistent on getting budget for their project approved, took their time on deciding on an insert, a box sticker or both. I've told one person I can't get them a production/delivery schedule till I know when those items were going to arrive. They haven't been released to print yet and they still expect distribution on the 27th. They drag their feet and I'm held to the fire of getting it done. GRRRRR.

Well ****! I do have to go the stupid meeting. Not for any real reason, but for political reasons. The Owner is bringing people in during their vacation specifically for this meeting and there will be Board members there so we need to put on a show. Now I'm trying to organize some work that I can bring and accomplish in the car. At least it's not going to be sunny. Working on a laptop in a car on a sunny day is impossible (I've tried it before - with a jacket over my head to block the glare).

30 minutes until my flight. Nasty rainy weather. Getting it out of the way now before all you folks arrive to paradise.

Homer and Virgil have nothing on you! This sounds like an epic trip! I'll bet it impressed the locals, and got you a lot of free beer.
It sounds like the West Texas A&M Buffaloes, in Canyon, TX. I know that stretch of highway well, driving it on my Lubbock-OK City round trips about twice a month from 2006-2009. 360 degree horizon, most places.

Good morning, Lodge!

That it was West Texas A&M, WTW gets the gold star. I did get offered a few beers down there, but I had already opted to not really drink much down there as earlier in the week I had that horse clunk me on top of my head with her teeth, and I might have had a mild concussion at the time. So drinking there probably wasn't all that good of an idea. Showed off the staples in my scalp and got offered quite a few different eats as well. Kicker of it all was that I was laid off at that time and they had just called me earlier that tuesday if I wanted to work wednesday and thursday. Had he just called me on Monday and got me there on Tuesday I wouldn't have a funky looking scar where I'm going bald at now. :p

No. I have to take an electrical engineering colleague, I'll make him drive so I can work.
