Well... the Hawks lost so I guess *ht, but then again... we picked up Andrew Ladd today. :D

In other news, the boy is being recruited hard for a summer travel lacrosse team by a coach he played for last year on a different travel team.

This new team plays at higher level tourneys that get scouted.

This coach is at a different high school (near Milwaukee) and has put a lot of his own players into the NCAA from D-1 through D-3.

The only reason to do this team is if it's an investment in a (possible) future of at least D-3. Spoke to the boy and he'll need to commit to grades and off-season work.

He claims to want to pursue this opportunity.

Would be cool to look back on this several years from now as one of those turning point moments.

Your focus should be on hookers and blow. ;)

Seriously, good luck.

Good Morning Lodge.

I'm buying rounds at the hht tonight!
Your squad was impressive. So much speed and skill up front and Racine was great when he needed to be. Tell me again why they don't have a better record? As long as they refrain from being goons, they look hard to beat.

Good Morning Lodge~!

When will RB be able to go bike riding again? I imagine RFAlph has never stopped riding- it is way too warm this winter!

Overtired shopping is similar to drunk shopping. Went in for 5 things, came out with about 100$ worth of stuff. *sigh*

Goaltending has been questionable...certainly don't have a 'steal a game' goalie. Also, last night they decided to play defense. That's not always the case. See the last 5 minutes of the game for Michigan's typical defense.

Good morning Lodge. Happy Friday! Frozen Four tickets came yesterday, hockey tonight, life is good.

oh dear.

I am off to get a tablet today (most probably). called bro les because I spent some time yesterday trying to figure out the world of tablets and came out minimally more smart about them than when I started. Thought maybe I wasn't processing things well or wasn't looking in the right place. bro les invents computer things and has a number of patents for the same. He said he has been researching for his wife for the last several weeks and he was so frustrated he started a spread sheet to keep track of things (les does not even know how to make a spread sheet). Feeling less dumb.

Was randomly browsing last night and impulse bought an $80 Pac-Man LED desk clock. Not like me at all.

In my defense it was awesome.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

We had a tour of our new office located near the new Vikings stadium (not permitted to call it by the sponsor's name - freaking cult-like about that, I swear). My group will be on the 14th floor, that's the top floor assigned to a group as the building only has 15 stories and the 15th floor will be a commissary/common area of some sort. We're kind of a big deal around here.

I'm going to lose so much storage space, going from a two-drawer cabinet, a three-door cabinet, a writing drawer, and two overhead bins down to a single one-drawer cabinet and a small locker for my jacket, bag and such. Privacy will also be gone.

There are some small conference rooms designated for stand-up scrum meetings, but they're called things like huddle and focus rooms, along with some other football references.

Also, no decorations or house plants will be allowed at the new office building. Many of us are expecting a very sterile and depressing environment.

The oddest thing about the new building is the elevator system. In the elevator car itself there are no buttons to select your floor. Instead, you select your floor from a kiosk just outside the bay and it tells you which car to use. It then counts the number of people getting into a car by kiosk selection and then again those passing through the elevator doors to optimize travel speed and minimize the number of stops to reach your destination. The other part that they don't say is that the security desk will know exactly how many people are on which floor at all times and who roughly who those people are.

So you're finally "catching" up to Mother Mining. ;) The short walls do lead to a lot of collaboration, some even work related, & the urge to press a button inside the elevator will never leave.

I work in Trust Ops, we're a bunch of non-client facing people for a reason. We're almost all introverts except for one group that will be on the 13th floor. The odd extrovert who ends up in the area tends to be a temporary employee and generally won't last past six months.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Good morning Lodge folks. Happy Friday! It is still morning here in Phoenix so I can say that. :) I'm at one of our offices working today rather than rely on the spotty wireless at the hotel. Hope to get a bunch of little things done here that I wasn't able to do this week.

Not sure what I ate yesterday, or what was going through my mind, that resulted in the weird dream I had last night. I was at the OJ Simpson trial. Not the actual one. The one that's a TV movie being aired now. I'm not even watching it so I have no idea what that was. Also, it was my responsibility to accompany Marlon Brando to it. And he was acting all weird trying to eat cupcakes that people had thrown on the floor. So I said stop that and went over to a concession to buy one for him (and me since they were chocolate!) and I met Larry David. And he was wearing a Buffalo Sabres Jack Eichel jersey. I asked if I could take a picture of him so I could text to his mom (who I actually know).

Thanks to wT for letting me know the Frozen Four tickets arrived. Of course they arrive when I'm not home for two weeks. I had asked my parents to grab my mail this weekend as I tend to get most of my mail Thursday/Friday and there wouldn't be any room for next week's mail. I called them this morning to look out for the envelope. I'm assuming they didn't get a signature and just left it? I told them to look on the bookcase across from the mailboxes and also on the floor under my mailbox just in case. I hope they find them!!
