Math One of my friends for church came through with free ones!! Love my church familyHow cheap is cheap? Newegg has them for as little as $1.39 per drive, plus shipping. You can do the math.
Snapfish has stopped doing group rooms. Now you need to invite everyone separately to every album. Um no. Not in the mood to to do all that work. One of my to do things is to find a new host for pics. ALso snapfish doesn't let you load full quality photos and I need to get them to the yearbook too.So 7.2 Gigs of cross country runner photos and 18 runners on the team? Can't do a Snapfish account or the like to let everyone download the shots they want? That's what our hockey team photographers did.

I saw your message. That is the program which I use, but I mainly use it for reading information which others send to me. I still do most of my work in word processor format. The only info I have entered into FTM is my direct ancestry which I wanted to upload to FT-DNA (DNA research).RFAlph- did you see that FTM is no longer going to be supported? What Family tree program do you use? I need to find something to switch to.
Asked this in the other thread- what happens when the OS is updated? I lost a chunk of work yrs ago when I changed computers and couldn't open one of the first programs I used. I have a pretty big tree (probably not as big as yours) and have entered info thru various versions of FTM. Some of the earlier merges did not save the actual document image. From what I am reading I am going to need to manually go thru and save the docs to each person. PIA. A great retirement projectI saw your message. That depends upon the age of the old OS and the OS involved. Most modern OS's will allow your PC to maintain all its compatible apps/applications and data files without loss. If you're talking a generational jump from something like Windows Vista to Windows 10, then you might run into some real issues.Asked this in the other thread- what happens when the OS is updated? Windows 10 now. I have thousands of hours put into this, not just documents but stories, etc. I may just print everything at some point but that would take a scary amount of paper. That depends upon the age of the old OS and the OS involved. You would do well to buy a backup external hard drive. A single terabyte (TB) goes for about $60, and you can get 5TB for about $150 or so. With all the photos you've taken, it would be well worth the expense of a backup hard drive because that would be a downright shame to lose all of that effort and those memories. Maybe even keep that thing in a fire safe while you're at it.
