Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

I'm driving to Connecticut for the Yale/QPac series and driving home after that game so it better be nice or I'm not going.
You could always take the train! ;)

And you had better stop by and say hello when you're at the Bank!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Some co-workers from Cottage Grove to to Maplewood had almost two hour commutes. Normally 15-20 minutes and apparently the entrance ramp from 70th to 61 was closed at some point. Complete cluster.

That backup was insane. All the way to Hwy 10 towards Prescott. Plus side of going against traffic. Going home was good. Made it back at normal time. Went to the gym. Leave gym and the snow decided to arrive, again. Tomorrow will be another fun commute.

Headed to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship Game this weekend. Should be an awesome time, and it's gonna make for a lon week...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Normal commute for me. Helps I go against traffic, though.

Roads a bit slippery on the way home, no matter, The Fifth handled them like a charm.

Shipped out about 450 boxes of ice melt today. Whee, that was fun. The volume alone extended my day by about 90 minutes.

Sitting at the ER because my daughter ran a 104 fever. Thankfully this hospital just opened a Pediatric ER so it's a lot quiter.

Local MSP? Who does she dance with? My daughter danced with a couple girls from BSM who are probably your age.

No, Chicago area (she's also only 13). I guess this was like a regional, or something. She came up last year for it too.

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge :)

I hope Jimjamesak's daughter gets better soon.

As somebody who hates needles, it's infinitely worse to see ones daughter get an IV put in.

Thankfully, after noticing her blanket, they brought a portable DVD player and a copy of Frozen for her to watch.

Which reminds me to make a donation to Child's Play this year...

Do they have it under control? It might be too early for that question, but best of luck to her.

My boss recently told me of her aversion to needles. In her case (my boss), I find it really funny because she's tattooed all over the place, full color murals on her arms and a bunch of work across her chest. I didn't ask the obvious question as a follow up to her revelation.

We have people who are afraid of 'needles' refuse immunizations all the time and look like billboards for the local tattoo parlor. It is OK for you to have a little needle stab you millions of times and leave something behind but not OK to get one needle to disperse something your body will absorb. Someone needs to invent a TDAP tattoo. We can give the immunization leave a little ink and maybe a date behind. then no one would ask if they were due for another one.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Hope all is well with your daughter, Jimjamesak.

I was getting blood work done back in October, and the person drawing said she has seen people with full sleeves cringe worse than little screaming kids.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Finally home. Doctor thought she might have had appendicitis but after blood work, urine screen, and a CT scan everything was clear though we just have to keep an eye on her the next few days to make sure.

Now to haggle with work about getting the day off as I'm about two hours out from my shift starting and am in no shape to work.

She had some really cool nurses though. That helped a ton.

Thanks for the thoughts all.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Good Morning Lodge.

Glad the daughter is OK JJ. My kid had something that looked like appendicitis a couple years ago. The drink they gave him for the CT scan made him throw up and feel way worse, and the amount of blood they took for all the tests made him come very close to fainting. Turned out to be inflammation of lymph nodes in the vicinity of the appendix.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

to see the rest of her chest art? :D

I'm thinking it's a lot of art hidden under her shirts because she has huge.... tracts of land!

Actually, what I can see of her tattoos, the ones on her chest appear to be the least interesting, delving into the more common images. Her arms are where the best work are with a fly fishing scene on the one and an idyllic forested lake setting on the other. I've never asked, but I think they're two halves to the same piece.
