Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Good Morning Lodge. I had a bout of vertigo (BPPV) yesterday afternoon/evening. Finally got one of the exercises to work before bed so it's gone now. Really hate that feeling.

The last time I had vertigo, there was a bout of flu involved. The time before that, there was a bout of hangover involved.

While it's been a very relaxing and leisurely 2.5 weeks off since my trip to Las Vegas, I guess I'm ready to go back to work tonight. Only a 2 week stint, up to NYC area for a wedding, then back to the boat until Christmas Eve, although I may work through the 26th if my relief wants to stay home with his boy.

Hopefully I don't have to battle too many amateur fliers tonight...

Great! One less thing I need to worry about next spring. I think I selected some decent seats.

One less thing for us to worry about as well! We paid for our hotel, but didn't secure tickets.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Quiet day here in the Lodge. Took the day off. Yet I've been on email for almost half of it. Been sitting here catching up on dvr'd shows and then I packed for the trip to NYC so it wasn't too much of hassle. I did finally submit my expense reports. Those last few charges finally showed up on the system. I'm going to my cousin's tomorrow, still haven't got a flu shot. Her son turned 3 on Monday and it hit me that I never got him a gift. Made a Target run. Was not as busy as I thought it would be.

Hope you all have wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Wasn't sure how busy Tampa airport would be tonight, although I had a late flight (945 departure). Wouldn't have known it from a normal Wednesday, except lots of arriving pax. Virtually empty going out though, no line at check in, and only a small line at security. Bypassed that too with prefect though.

Drove by Cub (local grocery store) around 5 on my way to the Wild game, looked like black Friday in the parking lot.

You'd have to be a complete moron to grocery shop the night before Thanksgiving.

Years ago, I had forgotten it was the day before, and went. Never again.

Swung by Trader Joe's for a bottle of wine (going to a coworker's house.)

Walked in, saw the line, noped out of there.

You did the double F-up. Shopping for booze the night before T-Day!

I got in and out of the local liquor store without issue. Sometimes living in this corn husk of a town has its advantage.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

I got wine elsewhere, no line.

I stopped by a booze store tonight, see if anything new came in. It was packed. Lot was full, people parking in the street, and this wasn't some mega-store by any means. (Haskell's for the locals).

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

And Happy Thanksgiving too!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

I made it in and out of Meijer quickly yesterday, it helped that it was 3:30 and for once they had most of the checkouts open.

Good morning Lodge, and happy Thanksgiving. Hanging out in the airport waiting to fly to Houston, via Nashville. It is too dam n early.
