Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Whatever it ends up being, I'm not worried. I just liked the article someone linked with the professor who said that schools changing their mascots pick either angry mascots that use "fighting" in the name, or they pick some sort of bird, usually a bird of prey. That just clicked to "angry.... bird" for me, so I giggled and now running with it.

I hear ya. I just like the actual definition of "chickenhawk" and it sorta matches, so....

And as far as the Ducks thing, the Ice Girls use the flying V formation at Wild games. I chuckled.

Jupiter on GPL is clearly running with the angry birds thing too. :D :p

Morning.

OC day, and a couple extra people will be showing up. Thankfully, the GB game is later, so no Cheeseheads this week.

Came in from hunting early to watch the Vikings. Already have 10 in the tree, so didn't feel bad for coming back early.

On my 4th load of laundry after unpacking. Trying to catch up on dvr'd shows and decided do my expense report while watching TV. I input just about everything and realized my hotel from Orlando has not hit the system yet. I hate that!! I checked out on Wednesday. No idea why that takes so long to post. Wanted to get that done today so I didn't have to deal with it at the office.

Cold and dreary day here today. Thought about going out to do some shopping but it seemed like a day to sit on the couch.

Oh, and Norm Green still sucks.

Goes without saying.

Dang it, it kinda got cold on us here today. Dropping down to 16 degrees tonight. Really glad I thought to check the coop because I saw the water in my heated waterer icing up when I got home tonight. Then I realized that I hadn't bothered to plug in the cord that I have running out to the coop. Thankfully, it hadn't frozen solid yet, so it should be fine. Just switched the nipple waterer out last week.

Good morning Lodge peeps. Monday. Blah. Though it's only a 2-day work week for me so I shouldn't really complain. It is chilly out here today.

The guy in the cubicle next to me is having an extremely horrible bad BO day.

It's become pretty distracting, actually, keeping me from being as proficient at posting on the boards as I could be. :D

(The apps I support are all humming along nicely, leaving me with not much to do today.)

Yesterday was my sister's-in-law retirement celebration from the MN Air Guard, she's retiring as a Sr. Master Sgt, been in the service 33 years full-time and is being forced into retirement due to age restrictions, which also means that she's going to receive almost full pay for something like another ten years, then normal military retirement pay kicks in. My brother retired about 12 years ago, voluntarily, and never told the family that they had such events for those going through it. My mom would've liked to have attended, I'm sure.

The ceremony took about an hour, including flag presentations of both Old Glory and the MN state flag, one that was flown at the State Capitol Bldg, complete with the certificate of date flown and signed by the governor. The mess hall performs double duty and acts as an event hall too, and it was pretty well packed in tight. I had no idea these were such big deals there. Her squad mates all chipped in to give her a gift, a fully decked out Gopher jersey with her name and the number 33 on it, for years of service. She and my brother have season tickets, so she just loved it.
