Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

For future reference.....locals call it Alec. Non locals call it Alex. Don't know why. It is what is is.

OK, I'll remember and be sure to call it Alex so no one mistakes me for a local. :p

The Shooting Park is very impressive and they did a great job of accommodating the large number of people attending. It seemed a little overwhelming but there was plenty of parking and bathrooms (porta potties), the two keys for such an event. ;)

The poor Holiday Inn folks were a bit overwhelmed. Booked solid for 6 days straight with nearly every booking being for just one night meant near total turnover every day. I'm sure it was a big boost for Target, Walmart, Perkins, etc. all clustered near 29/I94. Not sure how much it impacted other businesses in town.

Saying Alex is the way us locals separate the riff raff.

The event has to be a boost to the local economy.

I have spoken to several locals that have volunteered at the event and I have spoken to participants/parents and I have yet to hear any negative comments.

For those of you keeping score from home.

Currently at the vet. Our pup fell ill Sunday and has been getting worse. He is in rough shape. Hope they can figure out what the hell is going on.

F an a.

After vet visit and receiving crushing news we were given a couple options. We then rushed to cityslickerville. Pup is being evaluated and we are waiting for options. More than likely surgery sooner (within next couple hours) rather than later.

No words. None. :(

Old school reasoning would be that a $0.50 bullet would be the cure. Can't do it.

Surgery is on hold for now. Cautiously optimistic that they can medically stabilize him and then hope that the antibiotics kick in and do their job.

This won't come out right, but maybe be thankful this came up now instead of 15 years from now? I can't imagine fully attached as part of the family, and such. :( Either way, man, it hurts.

Little g's and mrs g are devastated. I'm not far behind them.

It's a tough loss. When we put our family dog down, I couldn't be there. I just couldn't. One of the worst things ever.
