2 weeks until my Houghton trip. I cannot wait. I really need to get away, just to recharge.

Saw an article on USA today that a WV man was fined $300 for housing 2 deer, a 6-point buck and another probably just over a year old. It's believed the buck was in the home for ballpark 2 years.

Half the group has never seen the UP in summer. And we are now not bound by hockey schedules. It's a different world, in that aspect. ;)

That's all. And not having interwebs is a plus sometimes...

From what I hear, we are going full UP for touring. Houghton Thu/Fri, Eagle River on Sat for beds (scotch menu!).

Good. I don't particularly like the sun starting to rise before I go to sleep at 0500 :)

(This is really only an issue when we are on the northern/eastern part of our run, in the central time zone. And the fact that the old man (captain) struggles to wake up on time and I usually work an extra 10-15 minutes).

If there isn't a hockey trip planned for October-December, I think this would be the first year I haven't been up since 2005.
