Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

Good morning Lodge.

Woke up to 49 degrees this morning.

I hope this weather hangs around for a bit. We are attending the Twins game Friday. On 7/20 we will be hitting the road as we are camping in southeastern MN for a week and then the north shore the week after that.

For the time being, Friday's forecast for Mpls is L 66, H 81, with a sun-cloud mix; looks like a great day to take in a game.

Friday's game should be ok. Saturday is the game I'm concerned about because of it's nasty out we will be looking into to the sun the entire game.

Most of Colorado is under a smoke warning too.

I demand the Canadians say they're soary.

You should be able to walk it off by walking to the stadium like what the hubby and I did. My favorite part was a taphouse called Tapcade with 50 beers on tap and $5 all you can play 80's and 90's arcade games.

Coors Field has one of those right down Blake Street called 1up. Highly recommended.

Agreed. Can we put up a wall to keep it out?

Very hazy here today and my lungs are slightly irritated.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

I needed a map. Had no idea what that was about.

Never watched a full episode of that in my life. I guess that means I am uncultured. :p

The scene I quoted was from the episode "Last Exit to Springfield," and it was a riff on the scene in Citizen Kane where the old man (I forget the character's name) is asked about Mr. Kane and he goes off into some rambling tale of unimportant events from long ago, and is itself a testament to how old people like to answer questions in their long, circuitous ways. A lot of the Simpsons episodes from the first few years would make reference to Citizen Kane during random scenes, either direct scene staging, quotes like the one I gave or simple "prop" placement. During DVD commentary, the producers were willing to bet that you could watch at least two-thirds of that movie by watching the Simpsons.

I will be at Saturday's game. You usually can find me at 2 Gingers Bar.

"Hey, at least all this rain in Denver will keep the wildfires down."

What NOW, kids?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

So the office I left a couple months ago to take this job just had one other person quit and today they laid off 3 others. It was not that big an office then and is even smaller now. Good I got out when I did.

Ok. I'm not sure which section we have on Saturday. I know they are lower level outfield. The section with the flower boxes. I think row 2. Friday night we are a couple rows behind the Twins dug out.

You should make it down for a St. Paul Saints game. I think your kids would really like it with the intermission antics they have. Also, the entire stadium is just easier to find things because it's very open; all concessions and such can be seen from your seats (assuming you'd use the handicap seats with little g).

This year's ball boy is PIGasso. Every year it's a new pig.

I agree. I have had the best of intentions on getting to a game but just haven't been able to make it happen.
