Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

The haze from Canada is strong today after the rains moved through.

It looks like the winds are going to continue out of the north tomorrow, but then it starts out of the south starting Wednesday. I'm looking forward to Wednesday.

They said tomorrow morning the air will be good, but will be back to bad tomorrow afternoon.

Could be worse. We could be China (although I heard that we were worse than China this evening).

I could somewhat see the smoke when looking over looking distances, but it didn't bother me much. Get the sane effect from humidity. But today in the late afternoon/early evening? Cripes. You could tell It wasn't humid at all, but things an eighth of a mile away were tough to see. I could feel it in my nose, throat, and eyes.

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Just got back from Kansas City. The hubby and I had a blast. The people there were the nicest people and were great hosts.

I've never heard anything bad about KC. Have more than a few friends that made that baseball trip (hence my question about noticing the LEH-MOE-NADE! guy, on FB).

Lounged around, movie Sunday. Waiting for the supposed storms later tonight.

Have thought about making a trip out there sometime. got several friends out there and from what I've heard, you could pack on 20 pounds going around town there trying to find the best of the BBQ there.

It was easy to see in Plymouth area. And could tell it wasn't fog/etc.

It was real bad in Golden Valley/St. Louis Park around 3:00PM. We could barely see the Friday's across 394. Shops at West End? Forget about it. I can usually see the MPLS skyline from the parking ramp. Today? Nothing. And the sun was "shining."

Edit: Yes, I'm complaining. But in no way am I not sympathetic to the people that truly have to deal with these fires. Glad I'm not them. I'll take some smog for a few weeks over it any day.

Similar to me. 494 (about 100 feet away) was hazy in Plymouth.

It's actually never been green in my lifetime!

Well, Twin Lake has never been filled with twins! I demand justice! ;)

FTR, I wouldn't touch Twin Lake (Crystal area) with a ten-foot pole.

Years ago, can't remember exactly when and too lazy to attempt Google, there were fires in Quebec that affected us with the smoke in NNY during that summer for a bit.

I really do find it amazing that stuff like that reaches THAT far. Now imagine radioactive fallout. Yeah.

Finally got into the hotel room in Bogota. Coworker had his bags mislabeled/misplaced, and it too a few hours to get it resolved. Gonna be a short night.

Some blow will give you a lift.

You should be able to walk it off by walking to the stadium like what the hubby and I did. My favorite part was a taphouse called Tapcade with 50 beers on tap and $5 all you can play 80's and 90's arcade games.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Good Morning Lodge.

Pond is back down to normal today. No more blue herons fishing in our yard.
