Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #179: Crisp Autumn Weather, Football, and Hockey

I don't think today could've Tuesday'd any more if it tried.

Ditto. Someone (*cough cough our salesman/rep that has the U of M acct*) thought it'd be a GREAT idea to submit an 8 pallet order...15 minutes before our cutoff time. Instead of being out at 6, I was out at 7. Thanks, *hole.

Other things on my mind, too. Got some info tonight that I am not happy with. Not. One. Bit.

I loved that, back when I worked a production desk people would submit requests for reversals a couple minutes before cutoff after having not submitted anything to me all day long. Others would submit throughout the day, but a few people would wait until the end. Then I'd get flack from the group to which I sent along the requests after doing my piece and they'd start yelling at me. I'd explain why they were getting late submissions from me (I wasn't sitting on my chair with a thumb up my * all day), and it was almost a daily occurrence. So on one end of the process I had jerks sending work at cutoff time and on the other end were idiots not understanding what kicks off my process despite them having the same staff on hand for the past six or seven years by that point. (The same two idiots are still in that role today, still badgering the person that now performs my old job.)

I will say, all bosses had my back. Still made my deadlines, it just extended my day more than it should have been. Bosses couldn't really do anything about it, but they completely understood everything. Head Boss even said, and I quote, "I heard it was a beech of an order." :)

I was the figurative 5hit magnet at my old job - the worst stuff seem to come in when I was working. At the new job, it would appear I am the literal 5hit magnet. ::sigh::

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge :)

Good Morning Lodge.

I learned this morning of the passing of another high school classmate from pancreatic cancer. Once again, I don't remember him.

Somehow I have a bad feeling about this story, like you would be just better off taking the uniform off and just burning it instead of attempting to clean it. Morning....

Bummer.

(I couldn't resist)

I used Hertz when I went to my niece's wedding a week and a half ago because I wanted a company which had an office fairly near where I was going on eastern Long Island in addition to LGA. I had no problems besides for all the gadgets which new cars have which I am not used to. (Who would have guessed that the headlights would turn on automatically when it is dark. :) ) I did notice that I got picked up at the airport a lot faster than when I used Enterprise.

My 99 Corolla did that... Of course my 15 Mazda 6 doesn't... Go figure

Different manufacturers put their time and money into different segments. Mazda is about making as sporty of a ride as possible for the average consumer while Toyota is about increasing its perception of comfort, reliability and safety.

Back at work and the grind for minimum 3 weeks, maybe my full 4 weeks. May or may not have a Vegas trip the first weekend in November, depends if I can get off the boat, and if I want to (was supposed to be a bachelor party, but the other 10 bachelors are either on ships or backed out, so it would just be me, groom, bride and the bridesmaids. Yes, I realize the numbers are obviously a good ratio, but who knows what I'll do.

3rd night on in a row. We have several pts over 300lbs and our skin care nurses have mandated that all pts must be turned every 2 hours to maintain skin integrity and prevent pressure sores. Hefting these pts (one of whom is over 550) is really exhausting after several consecutive days. Will definitely be enjoying our hot tub tomorrow. And, our next apartment, will definitely need a hot tub on premises. Since tcbg's company was sold, we're likely on the move in the next year (to MA from NH). I'm starting to look now, figuring I'll need the time to find the right place for the right cost.

My friend worked as a Nurse Anesthetist in the Army. When he came out and worked in the public sector he was astounded at the amount of super morbid obesity he saw in the hospital. As an old rehab NP who took care of decubs on people who weren't turned I get it but I can't figure out how you turn these people effectively.
