Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Wasn't me. I was on the bus.

Some years ago I was on the bus heading from Mpls to Apple Valley, using an HOV lane of he entrance ramp to 35W southbound, some guy driving the exact same model car I drove at the time had timed it perfectly so that the rear left tire of the bus road right up over his right fender and hood. I watched the whole thing happen as I was sitting in the seat over the tire and hadn't brought a book that day. Frickin' surreal, watching the guy try to time the merge and getting this weird frustrated and panicked look on his face because he couldn't figure out how to time the merge. Complicated stuff, clearly.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Oh, and a couple weeks ago my bus rear ended a car on southbound 35W and the driver of the car just drove off without acknowledging the accident. Me thinks the driver of that car might not have been entirely legal to be on the road, be it drinking, lack of insurance, suspended/revoked license, or any combination thereof.

$30,000 fix. Thankfully, the jetbridge wasn't pulled up or someone could have gotten seriously hurt.
Yeah, I figured the jetbridge wasn't pulled up or it would've had a more somber tone. Accidents like that are no fun, had a friend get tossed out of a deice bucket.

Wasn't me. I was on the bus.

On the bus, that's where we're riding
On the bus, okay, don't say "hi" then
Your tongue, your transfer
Your hand, your answer

On the bus, everyone's looking forward
On the bus, I am looking forward
And it really ain't okay
I might die before Monday
They're all watching us

Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
Oooo, if you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
Hurry hurry, here comes my stop

On the bus, watch our reflection
On the bus, I can't stand no rejection
C'mon let's make a scene
Oh baby don't be so mean
They're all watching us

Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
Oooo, if you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
Hurry hurry, here comes my stop

Oooo, if you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
They're all watching us
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

So Monday my kitchen sink drain/garbage disposal acts up. I call Plumber #1 around 8pm, ask for a call back at home that night or by 8am Tuesday morning, then call my cell after. I call again on my cell at noon Tuesday. Get home Tuesday night, nothing. So I call Plumber #2, leave a message, he calls me right back. Tell him the issue, decide that he should come on Friday, as I'm off. I can live without my sink for a few days. Plumber #2 says he will call me Thursday night to let me know what time.

I'm here at home tonight, Plumber #2 calls, says he can't make it, how about Monday or Tuesday? Um, no. I've been without my sink for three days already, I need to get this fixed...I asked him if knew of anyone. Shouldn't plumbers know other plumbers? He did, he called Plumber #3 who just called me and said he can come tomorrow. Hopefully between 1-4pm. Grrrr.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Went to the doctor today. Not a neurologist. This time a GP. At my age, it's well past time.

My blood pressure was lower than what the neurologist measured, so that's good. It's gone from borderline "GET YOUR BUTT TO THE ER RIGHT THIS MINUTE!!" high, to "okay, we need to bring this down now" levels. I'm on BP medication now, so we'll see how this goes.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Is it any coincidence I got a call from WINDOWS UPDATE GUY this afternoon? Since I was the only one in the office, I'll give you one good guess as to what happened next.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Agh....Since when did I go from the baby of the family to the go to person?

If you haven't heard, my aunt died this morning from stage 4 lung cancer. F U cancer!

I have been busy all day contacting other family members and coordinating where we are staying in Billings. Dealing with my parents, and other family members, have been driving me crazy. They all know, but they call me to find out when so and so is arriving. I don't know! Beer is helping.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Vera got an FOAD email today, so she wanted to go to Anchor Fish and Chips and Dangerous Man Brewing tonight. Was a good time with a few friends. Her job is ending come December and she really wanted this gig she applied and interviewed three times for. She's super smart and driven so I know she'll find something, but it is still crappy.

If it makes her feel better, I got 3 from my current employer before I got hired.

LWB: :(

soh: :(

Arrived in Houghton...at 8pm their time, last night. We might have made a few stops. ;)

Good Morning Lodge.

Sorry LWB.

Work comp is locked. They pushed new software out overnight and my log in failed. I also can't call the help desk cause I never memorized my 6 digit employee number (it's in my computer!).

Huh, I changed my pw last week and using my old pw worked. Why the new password did not work for the MacAfee software but does for everything else is the mystery. Others had the same issue.

In prep for the upgrade, the tech team grabbed a dataset. Unfortunately, you have someone who's too targeted into the upgrade and not looking at what other implications taking such an action could cause. Or they grabbed a historical table and not the current table. Regardless, it worked... eventually.
