Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Question for those of you in cityslickerville. Mrs g and I are going to the Foo Fighters concert this Saturday. I sort of dropped the ball and forgot to reserve a hotel room close to the X (I have had the tix about 3 minutes after they went on sale). I just reserved a room at the St. Paul Hotel but they want some coin plus my left nut.

The usual places really close to the X are booked. Any recommendations for anything wihin stumbling distance or one that has a shuttle and it's not available by the hour?

I'd keep your reservation at the St. Paul Hotel....live a little.
Plus, the bar has a fantastic Scotch selection. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Crowne Plaza would be your backup. They don't jack prices, and it's stumbling distance.

Amazon sucks. Support great, options suck. My Kindle just bit the dust, I think, for internet.

Godfather's is darn good pizza. Maybe we need to hit that at next year's Volks Fest, bbdl...

Good morning logdeonions.

Lil is leaving tomorrow for another school yr. Ugh. Only slightly easier this yr. He is bringing his car and has"afternoons off, Mum" Yeah. I know I won't see him any more than last yr. He loves school (a good thing). After a roommate snaffu and shuffle things are finally all set. He found out from the coach this yr's roommate flunked off the team (the kid would not respond to his texts or calls) and then one of the kids who he was supposed to room with (but didn't get into the room) got screwed out of financial aide stuff. The coach came thru. Lil has a horseshoe planed somewhere below his spleen. In a suite with a bunch of the guys he hangs with including last yr's RM. They are all very serious about their sport but I have a feeling shennanigans are going to ensue.

Say that like its a bad thing :p

Still, its better then ending up with a random roommate from the wheel of death.

We would be hurling insults and taunts at Lil if there wasn't Shenanigans going on. That's part of the college experience. Just remember Lil, shenanigans should be cheeky and fun, not cruel, tragic, and evil.

I saw a bumper sticker today saying "Reelect Lincoln and Hamlin". I stay out of political discussions here, but I might vote for them. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Saw one of those a few years ago. Naturally, the car was driven by a guy who weighed a solid 3 bills. :D

The woman in car when I saw it wasn't particularly thin, and she was sucking down a cigarette with great zeal. She didn't need the sticker, we all already knew what it was putting down. :)
