Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

I'm somewhat happy my teams season is over. It has been rough.

It's funny, I love posting around here in the Cafe and enjoy many of you people. But I am becoming fed up with the other UAA posters. :(

This is why I stay out of my team's thread. The negativity gets old.

And *HT for me. I've been fairly nonchalant about the wins and losses, but last night made me crabby. This Jeckyll and Hyde thing has gotten old.

Lots of things getting old. Maybe it's me...

GET OFF MY LAWN!

Actually it's the opposite for me. This season UAA has not only been losing but playing terribly as well. Culminating last night by getting swept at home by our rivals. And the only response is "oh well." I'm just tired of the "well it'll be better next year" attitude the UAA fan base has. No desire to want something more, no expectation. Losing culture at its best.

The other issue is the folks who incessantly trash talk. I just wanna shake people and say "you realize we suck right? We have no leg to stand on!" Like last night, one of the UAF fans celebrates "six Governor's Cup in a row!" and the reply is "three in a row, cheaters never win!" It's just, really? We just got humiliated and you bring that? SMH.

I'm hitting my breaking point on dealing with them. I don't want to be associated with them. I feel like checking out of the D1 forum. Problem is, I like interacting with the people from other schools, especially the WCHA ones. I'm just not sure what the right move is.

Ask the Tech fans. :)

Yeah, the wait til next year school of thought isn't any better. Enough people have to get a burr under the saddle to try to get te changes made to move the program in the right direction. Definitely easier said than done.

I mostly lurk on D I side because of all you just posted. THe ones that make me crazy are the ones who are ready to accept the Stanley cup if we win and then throw the whole team off a short pier if they lose. They contradict themselves. After awhile it gets very old, esp if they don't know hockey and think they do. Some of the folks are great people tho so ignore is a great feature

<Morning everyone!

Good morning Lodge. Need to run out food shopping in a few minutes. Off to Worcester before noon to catch my niece's dance competition.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

Successful Johnny Holm band show night. Tons of fun with State of Hockey and Brent. Dillo even showed up late! He missed the main show, though. I sang Friends In Low Places with the band. Completely out of nowhere Johnny asked me to come up on stage and sing. I wasn't good, but it sounds like I wasn't horrible either. And it was a blast, probably the most fun I've had a bar in years. My wife posted a video of it on Facebook, and I imagine it won't be too long until it is on YouTube.

Great time. I haven't been that drunk in years. I now know why. Ooops.

Nice weather in 202-land but all the icy spots made biking an adventure. I gave up after just 10 miles.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

It's snowing here in Worcester. I don't think it's supposed to accumulate or anything but I thought it was supposed to be nice out.

No nice weather in New England this winter/spring. Didn't you get the memo? :)

And the trunk of Dillo's BMW is actually roomy and comfy. :D
