So with all this talk of heart issues, probably shouldnt mention I ran my 1st half marathon Sunday in 2 hours 3 minutes 1 sec. If someone wouldve told me 18 months ago when I weighed 125lbs due to Crohns Disease that I would run a half, I wouldve called them an idiot

Congrats, man.

A women friend of mine sends me this in an email: "Do you ever miss a hands-on job? I do sometimes."
What I read the first time through: Do you ever miss a hand job? I do sometimes. See the difference?

That perked me up a bit, very surprising, given who sent the email.
the girl making my coffee yesterday told me she has a nice box. I also perked up! :D

Friendy advice. Make sure the jeweler uses a white background vs a black background when showing the diamonds.

He did. The local jeweler is my dad's men's league golf partner. He learned his craft from his dad, and has been doing it since he was a teenager. He provides better service than I could ever imagine at a chain store. Free cleanings and maintenance for life, resets stones for free, replaces watch batteries for free, just stop in and ask and he'll fix you up. And he does a pretty good job of keeping his prices in the ballpark, for being a much smaller scale shop.

The boy informed me last night that he wants to go out for football in the fall. Will be a sophomore at a school where they are pretty good at football. But if there's any sport you can pick up late, it's football.

I'm inclined to believe that he will be okay to good at it even as a relative noob.

I can see his understanding of angling from hockey and lacrosse translating. In addition (and especially), he simply has the mentality for it. Kid loves to hit and light suckas up and enjoys physical play as it relates to the sports that he plays. Plays with an edge, can be mean and is pretty fearless. All the things that I wasn't at his age.

Been telling him for years that he should give it a whirl. We'll see.

Free safety?

Hi Lodge.

When did I get old? Rec league softball should not leave me feeling sore. :(
I suppose I should be glad that I am not as sore as our pitcher who was driven to the hospital after the 2nd inning when he injured his achilles. :(

Afternoon, Lodj.

Did you ever take the lady shooting?

Not yet -- kids end-of-year concerts, baseball, Scouts and whatnot keep clogging up the evenings -- but I got some good ideas from you all, so it's gonna happen.

Congrats, PB.

Happy Birthday Little g!!

X3!

Hey kids. Here at the Denver airport earlier than I need to be. My co-worker had a 10:30am flight, mine is at 12:49. Had to leave Colorado Springs at 7:30 so she could make her flight. Ate something quick at the hotel - complimentary breakfast. Small bowl of cereal and a mini donut. Drove the hour and a half to get to DIA. JetBlue counter doesn't open till 10:15. Thankfully DIA has many food options before security, which is good. Had a conference call at 9:30 so I got a bagel and cup of coffee. After I was done I was able to check in and go thru security. Now I'm not hungry but I need to get some to eat before boarding as I'll be flying all afternoon. I don't want to leave my seat as outlets are at a premium and I'm hogging two right now - one for my iPad and one for my phone.

Speaking of iPads, does anyone here who has one notice how long it takes to charge? I get that I'm using it right now but it's been plugged in for 30 minutes and it still says 85%.

Depending what you are using on it and screen brightness you might be outpacing the charge. Although if you're using an apple brand charger that should be difficult to do.
