Home. 560ish miles, took just short of 12 hours total, but I spend a couple of that with a buddy who is stationed at Ft. Rucker, in Army Aviation training for UH60's, so he gave me a little insider tour of the base and had lunch. Also had a lengthy stop between 2-3 pm, had to fend off the sleep monsters.

Atleast I get to enjoy home for 9 hours before taking off for Milwaukee. Someday I'll quit being young AND stupid, maybe.
Well you'll at least quit being young at some point....

Cool thing tonight at my hockey group.

From time to time, current and former Badger women players will come out and play with us.

Tonight, a former Badger and Sochi Olympian came out with a couple of others.

She was on my son's team (so I had the honor of trying to chase her around) and they were talking on the bench and she gave him one of her Olympic sticks. Has her name and number on it and a Team USA decal etc.

He was/is thrilled and has been snap-chatting his team mates about it. Gonna go on the wall in his room and if she plays with us again he'll get it signed.

Really nice of her and maybe a small thing, but is a BIG deal to him. He was just excited to get to play with her (as was I) and she made it even cooler.

Love hockey players... :)

Thanks gmann, but we'll pass. That's double Arrowwood and they include water park passes. :p

Never thought I (or anybody else, for that matter) would be excited to be going to Milwaukee, but here I am at the gate. Pumped, a 300 capacity club show for Kaskade (DJ) tonight. Small, intimate, loud. The way it used to (and should) be.

Reference my post last night. Still young (er) and stupid ;)

Nah, it's only a 12 show tour, and I was working for 11 of them. Had the chance to fly up using southwest points (cheap, too), and only spend a total of $150 for ticket, hotel and rental car. He played in Tampa Tuesday, however I was in NOLA on the boat.

Still, you're paying money to go see a DJ. Add to that, you're paying money to TRAVEL to go see a DJ out of town.

Kids these days...

My niece was excited to go to Milwaukee last weekend to watch the Yankees play the Brewers. Her boyfriend became her fiancé then. (Not that this was unexpected.)

I just turn on the radio, and there are almost always DJs playing songs. Unless it is a commercial, or talk radio.

Our wedding DJ is a DJ in Milwaukee, he DJs at Silk. hp, are you going to Silk?

Viked up and drinking coffee.

Played through a pretty bad back injury last night - wasn't gonna miss that opportunity if I could help it. Have a recurring problem with my sacroiliac joint which stems from an old hockey injury. It gets frozen out of place and when it is, it's intensely painful when tweaked. At one point I was trying to stretch it out in warmups and was seriously concerned that I might not be able to get back on my feet. I wanted to cry - not kidding.

Was mostly okay while moving, but every time I spent time on the bench it was a battle to get it moving again once my next shift started.

Had to lie on my back this morning to put my shoes and socks on - couldn't bend over in a sitting position.

Gurt = warrior. :p:D

Went to the doc this morning and she set me up and I even got in for PT this afternoon, which is a minor miracle... a traction pull should get it back in place.

Meanwhile I'm just floating around the office...:)
