Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Today at work, my boss and I were talking and he was telling me this story about how we had a customer contact him saying she was talking to me and said "who sounds like some kind of valley girl." My boss was telling me how hard it was to hold back his laughter. His comment to me, that he wish he could have said to the customer, after the conversation was "she would rip out your heart and use it as a hockey puck." My boss is awesome. :D

Doesn't make you a horrible person at all. Many moons ago, BU was on the cusp of making its first Final Four since I started following the team. Best 2 out of 3 series at Michigan State, Terriers lost game 1, won game 2, deciding game was Sunday, the day of my brother and sister-in-law's bridal shower. I was in the wedding, had to be there. After shower get together at her parents' house and I bolted because, well, how do you miss that??? Her brother thought I was awesome. My parents gave me the side eye but understood. If you get a chance to say hi and meet for a couple of hours, that's good. I'm happy to back you up!! :) also, that game isn't on TV so bring a laptop or your phone and go watch it in the car!

Also many moons ago, a year the Wild were in the playoffs, they had a game the same time as my grandpa's wedding (second wife, he was a widower :p ). I was getting texts from friends with the score, and then relaying that info via sign language to my uncle and brother who were very interested in the game. After the wedding/before the reception we had an hour to kill. We all went to the bar to watch the end of the game. Our families all understood.

I don't have this problem. I have the opposite. We miss a ton of stuff because Mr les is on the bench of said hockey games (>1200 games now). Only missed 1 game in 32 yrs My bro wedding. I don't think he has ever forgiven me.

Easy to conclude the upper Midwest has different valleys than the San Fernando :D

I forgot to mention earlier...not sure if this is normal or not, I know it's not in Minnesota.. I bought a six pack of bottles at the gas station. The guy started bagging it with a few other things, and to avoid the bag ripping, I pulled the six pack out.. Apparently it is state law it must be in a bag if the bottles are showing?

I think it is some dumb state law, but it hasn't stopped liquor stores from letting me leave without a bag, just carrying a 6er. The ones I've been usually ask if I want a bag, if I'm just getting a 6 pack, I usually don't want a bag.

I get asked if I want a bag or not also. I usually get a bag, since I use them for recycling.

Not sure, but I think Maryland may have that law.

In other silly laws, I remember taking my dad to the liqour store one year and I went to grab the bag to carry it out and they wouldn't let me (I think I was 19 at the time). I understand they can't let someone under the age of 21 walk out with alcohol, but my blind father has a cane in one hand, is holding my arm with the other hand as I guide him and I had 2 free hands. My dad had to wedge the bag in the crook of his arm. It was annoying.

They shouldn't have let you take the bag out, but they also shouldn't have made your father carry it out. They should have carried it to your car for you. It would be common courtesy for them to offer.
