Easters are the same this year so Lent started for me yesterday. I try to fast this first week but here I sit at the airport heading to Texas. Maybe I can get pizza tonight.

How does the fasting work? Is it no eating while the Sun is in the sky or tied to clock values? Also, does the Greek Orthodox church not observe the 40 days, like the Catholic church does? If not, that sort of surprises me.

Afternoon all. Busy day here, but it's been productive. Roommate's 21st tonight. I'm planning on keeping it pretty low key tonight; maybe I'll be the driver. Now that hockey is over I need to get back into better shape, as well as drink less.

It's abstaining, not not eating. We do observe the 40 days and some people fast for the whole 40. I could not do that. I try to do no meat on Wednesdays and Fridays and before I receive communion I strict fast, which is no meat, fish, dairy. Basically anything that comes from something with blood. No anything before receiving. The first week of Lent I try to have no meat the whole week and strict fast on Friday to receive communion Saturday morning but between travel and my sister-in-law's 50th birthday, that probably won't happen.

I just got done doing my first round of weightlifting since having my shoulder surgery back in May. Wow, that felt weird. It wasn't bad and I kept the weight really low, but there's definitely going to be an adjustment period. And for the record, everything felt to have stayed in place, it's just getting the muscles stretched out and stuff like that where I need to get out the kinks.

it's always been paczki day to me, but i'm polish and from the detroit-area. i've heard it called fat tuesday, too. i've never heard of the other two, but i'm not religious

I've had four blueberry ones today, and I know I could have easily gone thru a whole dozen of them if I really wanted to.

But I had a steak salad for dinner, so I should be good health wise right?

broomstick? barbell? All is fair in rehab. Everything I've read is high rep low weight for rehab but i think those are focused more at muscle tears.
