Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

Still not sick. :D The woman is sounding better, though. Supposed to have dinner with my parents on Sat at TK's, then woman and I planned to hang out afterwards. The latter is prob not the best idea right now, but we'll see how the rest of the week goes.

Other than that, getting ready for the Snowpocalypse that is supposed to happen tonight/tomorrow.

Man, the last couple of times I got the flu were enough to make me never want that again. One time my wife and I got it - thankfully before kids (95) and we honestly thought we might die coz we were both so bad off and neither was well enough to take care of the other. We still talk about that and hammer it home to the boys when they argue with us about getting the shot.

Haven't had the flu since I started getting the vaccine. Thank God. The freaking body aches and chills that pills can't help. No thanks.

-shudder-

And I don't usually gripe about weather, but this **** be gettin old.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

Well, we won't make it a late night, either way, it's a matter of hanging out to see the band.

Never had the flu shot that I can remember (don't remember if I got it as a kid), and I will never get it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

So the boy's JV season ended last weekend and he had a solid year. Certainly not the leading scorer on the team, but easily led the team in hits and faceoff wins - you know, some other important stuff. Oh yeah and other than the goalie, he's the smallest kid on the team.

The best compliments were the number of times that we overheard people in the stands saying "Who's number 3?" and the tone of that question would often be determinant upon which team's fans were asking. Regardless, I always took it as a compliment as he didn't have really many (any?) elbowing or boarding type penalties. People were noticing him though. He was a pest and a wrecking ball.

Anyway, turns out he is one of two JV players that has been asked to join varsity for the playoffs. Probably won't suit up for games or if he does won't get much (any) time, but he's pretty jacked anyway. A freshman hopping over numerous other sophomore & junior JV players to join the #2 team in the state for the playoff run. Pretty cool.

He earned it with his consistent effort over the season. It's a nice next step for him.

Proud.

Hope it's a decent run.
Bet your chest doesn't feel big enough for your heart :D that is great!

This is pretty funny

Congrats to him! Very nice.

Brent, I was thinking that the Saturday night plans might fall through because of that. If it doesn't work out, I have an alternate plan that may work out...If the US is in the gold medal game, a big IF. I want to go to a bar at 7:00 have some morning beer and watch hockey. Would you be interested?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

Went car shopping with my fiance again last night and she made a decision! A surprising one for us. She decided on a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. The hybrid was out of her budget, but I saw that they had an incredible deal on them the last time I was in there. She wanted to spend no more than $22k, and this hybrid was discounted by $7500, so the price was just over $24k. We calculated it out and with the amount of driving she does on average, she would save $25/month on fuel, so we added $25 to her target monthly payment to account for the fuel savings, and figured out how much more she'd have to have down over the non-hybrid. That number was small enough that we could cover it easily from the extra money we have from the refi. I told her that I'd be fine with going over-budget to get it, and she was ok with the numbers, and how they fit into our overall budget. So we pick it up on Saturday. Its a pretty nice car, since this one is loaded. She's pretty excited about it. The next two days driving her 15 year old Neon are going to be torture. :p

Was actually going to post in the cah thread that I had a Sonata rental this am and it was pretty nice.

I have had a Sonata Hybrid for a rental before, and I was very impressed by it. Which is why we considered it. Also, the batteries are guaranteed for life, with free replacement, since that is worry for some.

The gold medal game would be Sunday morning. We're busy Saturday too, buying the car in the morning and doing some wedding stuff in the afternoon.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

Morning, Lodj.

Few things in life suck as much as seeing a cute little a-girl and getting all set to search out her yummie mummie..... Then seeing an old crew cut white mom!! (Or MOMS!!! :( ) Ugh!!!

As opposed to when women see mookie. That's rapture, right there. A veritalbe Axe Body Spray ad, everywhere he goes. :p

So the boy's JV season ended last weekend . . . turns out he is one of two JV players that has been asked to join varsity for the playoffs . . . He earned it with his consistent effort over the season. It's a nice next step for him . . . Proud.

That's great. :)

Hoky has become obsessed with me. I wish he would quote whatever I posted since I don't recall what I posted about Kennedy.

I still don't know why he's going after you about that stuff. Perhaps trolling has taken a toll on him and he can't keep the stories straight.

I might have said something about JFK Jr. I certainly didn't think that he was a great player. OTOH considering Hokydad's opinion about numerous other RPI players, I wonder why he would think that JFK was good.
