Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

The cat just dragged me in.

All y'all have undoubtedly already discussed this, but I just noticed that they are finally showing us the latest reputation that we have handed out. I've often yearned for this feature.

Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt.
And now I see that the Notifications tab at the top lets me know how many new Reps I've received. Now I don't have to click on settings to see if RFalphPa has been spreading it again.

Good Morning Lodge.

What "Notifications Tab"? Never mind, found it....

At the top of the screen it reads, "Welcome, [Insert Name Here]". Following that is the word "Notifications" with a drop arrow. When someone gives you rep, it will read a number, and that's the value of your life to USCHO. There's no number when you have no notifications, so you're never a zero. To USCHO.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Howdy Lodge. Went to work today. :(

It seems we were oficially closed on Monday and that most people were called and told this. However, my boss claims to only have one person in my department's phone number. Myself and a coworker have both given him our number a few times, so I don't know how he "doesn't have it". At least I didn't make it more than a foot out of my driveway trying to come in, unlike the coworker that did come in.

As long as he arrives and aids me in removing that drift before it melts. Not too worried about it yet as its going to take a hell of a warm up to really start making a mess here.
You mean like 41 and rainy on Saturday?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

The number next to "notifications" on my page is for pending incoming friend requests that I have been ignoring because friend requests on a message board are idiotic.

Morning, Lodj.

I already vented about this elsewhere, but let me say again: In the future, sociologists will turn to my squirt team's performance last night as *the* point where society's slow, sad, indifferent decline really got going.

You could just decline them to reset the number. At any rate, that number will change with each rep received, and then go down again with each rep read.

Were the D firing shots on your own goalie just so they could at least say they scored once this season?

*Looks at weather report*
Aww Crap!!!

Well, the snow pack should hold quite a bit of the rain before melt really gets going, just when it goes, it goes. :o

Ha! I wish they'd showed that much determination. Here is something that actually happened: One of their D -- very slow and determined, an obvious beginner -- shoots a very slow but accurate shot. Our goalie sticks it, and it heads back towards the shooter, stopping about 12 feet out. Our nearest skater and our goalie start talking to each other like they're mad. Since the puck is still just sitting there, the shooter begins methodically skating towards the net and towards that puck. She hits it again, and it travels slowly towards the net, passes beneath and between all four feet of our two geniuses, and makes it over the goal line by two inches for a goal. It was amazing. Like something in a movie. You really thought, "Did I just see that?"

(Side note: Hey, good for her, man. No one's going to cover you? Go get that rebound and knock it in, baby!)

Dave, maybe you should have a locker room talk about what a fun game basketball is, or how good swimming is for overall health.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

So, after being told we're going to try to limit travel at the start of the year, so we don't run out of travel budget in September, last Thursday, I've been told I may have to travel to North Dakota, South Africa, Peru, New York, and New Mexico. Limited indeed. :p

In actuality, I'll probably only have to go to North Dakota, South Africa, and either New York or New Mexico, and none of them are a sure thing, but still.

Seems there is only one solution: Go Postal.
