Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

It turns out that the last rep I handed out was on April 23, given to mookie.
If I could make a suggestion....

The cat just dragged me in.

All y'all have undoubtedly already discussed this, but I just noticed that they are finally showing us the latest reputation that we have handed out. I've often yearned for this feature.

Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt.
Eight of my last nine reps received have been from RalphPa (not that I'm complaining!) The other was from a chocolate-milk-drinking hottie who is always screaming for a Maaaahgarita!! ;)

Speaking of which, I've got a powerful thirst. See y'all later.

I didn't notice. :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Good Morning Lodge.

I can't even make fun of my cousins in Lafayette, IN when they complain about the cold - it's forecast to be -11 for the high there, not much different than our forecast of -13 high. And they are not used to it at all. I bet there will be lots of frozen pipes in Illinois and Indiana.

i'm in south bend. it was about -8 (average) throughout the day, with a windchill of -40. the county put out a "disaster emergency declaration". I made it into work just fine, though, and all the animals are (relatively) toasty warm :) now i'm on my weekend, woohoo!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

So, coming home tonight, was taking a double-lane ramp onto the highway. Hit a patch of black ice, tail started kicking to the left. To avoid going into the ditch, had to crank to the left and gun the gas a little. Successfully executed a 360, and kept going, didn't even come to a stop. /likeaboss

Thankfully no other cars were around. Then it could have gotten dicey. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I wanted to get some work done tonight, get caught up on anything I missed during my day off, and so I logged onto my work PC and did a remote connection. I've received two emails since leaving on Friday and the shared work drive was down about 15 minutes ago so I had no access to the documents I needed to make the updates I wanted to make. Irritating.

That similar thing happened to me when I used to drive an '81 Chevette, back when I was 16, ended up on the left-hand side of the road. That was a fun drive. That car was a deathtrap.

Just thinking about it now, and holy crap! That was 20 years ago now.

The electric skillet is out. I have no idea how this creation is going to turn out. Pork chops, celery sticks, carrots, onion, rosemary, chicken broth, garlic, tomatoes, white beans. This is one of the stranger combinations I've seen yet.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Almost 2 feet of snow on the ground. And it's -4 at 11 AM, and headed south. Blew out three driveways with the snowblower. Hammer did his good deed for the day.

Now, to cook. Beef soup and pork chops are on the menu today in Lodge.

How big is that bad boy? I've got a drift forming out behind the barn here and we've discovered that the Agro can be a bit "finicky" about handling drifted snow. Thing was about 5 foot the last I checked it about 6 oclock. I'm going to want to remove that thing sometime before it melts or else I'm going to have a flooded barn here. That plus there's a bunch of crap, assorted tractor implements under that drift.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Another refreshing morning here in the South of the River part of the metro.

A car flipped on northbound Cedar Ave this morning, at the Apple Valley/Eagan border. I saw this as I passed by the car at around 6:15 this morning with the firetruck and police all on scene. The tow trucks zipped by me along the shoulder of the highway. There wasn't a mention of it on any of the various morning traffic reports I heard.

I decided to drive into Minneapolis today rather than taking the bus. With the issues my car had recently, I decided that it was best to not leave it out in the cold all day today, so it's parked in the IDS Tower's heated garage.

I'm sure that Hammer will appreciate you running a 3 bottom plow throw his snowblower.

Enjoying this being engaged status.
Congrats

Yeah, I stopped at the Meijer on Carpenter road Friday night just to grab a few things and they were totally not ready to handle that crowd trying to check out. They only had two cashiers there to check people out. Think it took me about 40 minutes to get all ranged up. Still would have thought they could have found another cashier or 2 to handle that crowd. Heck, even a trainee would have been doing something.
That's about normal for the Carpenter rd Meijer. I've waited in line 20 minutes or so on normal nights. Saturday they were prepared and had every lane open and were checking out small orders at the jewelry counter.

Hello Lodge, from my snow-bound house. Clearly my neighborhood does not rank high on the county road commission's list of streets to plow. And while maybe other drivers have packed the snow down enough for me to go, I don't want to get stuck in the snow when it's -10 degrees.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

A nice, cold 3-day weekend, and it only took until 10 am for someone to use up all my ****s to give for the week. Impressive.
