Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Why do people wait till the last possible moment and think they can get stuff? Sitting on the bus on the way to the airport terminal and I get an email from a woman who is planning a meeting and wants jackets. The meeting is in 3 weeks. And that includes a 4-day holiday weekend. I email her I'm en route to the airport and will call when I get to the gate.

Naturally she isn't there. I emailed her a lengthy note about what a challenge this will be, had a co-worker forward her the catalog. Haven't heard a peep. Oy. Always when I'm heading out on a trip. Need to shut down now, plane's about to pull away. Maybe she'll respond by the time I'm in Dallas.

Stay away from the Grassy Knoll if you are still there on Friday.

.

The players don't know I have a concussion you fools!:p

Seriously, use it as a teaching moment. Tell your players that you have the concussion, and will be watching practice from the stands while one of the other coaches runs it. Give them a solid reference point if they should have a concussion in the future.

People at work are allowed to ask me one stupid question per day. The best one so far is the definition of "cease and desist".

This. If the other coaches are worth anything, they will back you as well. Not to mention gaining the respect of everybody, including parents.

Since you have a concussion I'm sure you won't be traveling to watch a certain Iowa team get destroyed. ;)

Maybe he'll lie in the back seat while his dad drives like Kill did with his wife driving when he went to the Northwestern game.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I was on the bench last season with a raging kidney stone. Missed the first period and then had a lull where the pain dipped to 7 or so out of 10. Ended up in the ER the next day getting IV morphine.

Concussion, shmencussion. :p

Seriously, you should stay off the ice if that's what's suggested. Would think that the team physician could be on the hook here too if he knows and allows you to go on the ice. With all of the new guidelines, liability is a factor even if safety is still ignored.

As a side, I'm not sure there's anything better than IV morphine... :)

Of course, easy to dole out advice, but I'd most likely do the same as Mav...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Mavsy should go out on the ice strapped into motorized scooter/wheelchair. Afterall, safety first.

Only if the manual says that straps are approved with said scooter/wheelchair.

Safety and liability. ;)

Chicken and biscuits, mashed taters, and chicken noodle soup. I like this little place across from the courthouse.

Alpha Koney Island? It is a nice little spot.

Going to be a bit quite here for thanksgiving. Past 2 thanksgivings I've been at the ex-girlfriend's thanksgiving with all of her family, getting the big old soul food thanksgiving with lots of good eats with a lot of her family there. Wasn't much fun with the other option of thanksgiving at home, especially last year. This year it looks like its just going to be me, Mom and my younger brother, oh, and the ex-girlfriends dog. She's going to Ohio for Thanksgiving and can't really take her Lab with her there, and her father is finishing up some treatment for Prostrate Cancer, and he can't really handle the dog right now she was saying, mostly because he does have a bad habit of bouncing up on people. So I'm being a schmuck and dogsitting her dog for her for the week. Onyx is an awesome Black Lab, so I guess this does fall under visitation rights for him to come here every once and a while right??
