Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

So I think I've gotten to a point in my professional life where I'm not surly anymore. All that annoyance and anger has been replaced by what I'm calling "casual indifference." If you want to be crappy at what you do, go for it. As long as you're not bringing everyone down with you, I just don't care anymore. :)

Morning y'all. Time to whoop these high schoolers into shape.

I must have missed the part about laying low that included setting a great example for these kids about taking care of yourself with a concussion. ;). Just remember that when one of them gets rung and you're telling them they can't do anything.

What he said! As a parent I can tell you how well the line of "do as I say, not as I do" works. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

My brother and his college roommate are staying with me the Friday & Saturday after Thanksgiving. They're coming up for football vs. aOSU. That leaves me with not enough time to go to Texas for turkey day. So as of now, I have no plans. My aunts who I'd spend t-day with are going to Florida for my cousin's graduation.

Since I have no where to go (and am bitter/lonely/depressed about it) I'm thinking I'll be part of the problem and go shopping on Thanksgiving day.

Howdy Lodge. In the office this morning then heading to Dallas. Flying home Friday. If I could have changed my flight to Thursday (without it costing a fortune) I would have left my car at home. But since I need to come into the office Friday when I get back and then head to the BU game, I had to drive. I was a little worried about parking at the airport when I left here so I drove to the airport first thing, parked, and took the T to the office. Got here earlier than I would have if I just took the T from home. I'll take the T back when I bolt at noon and when I land Friday I'll have my car. Easy peasy.

We picked up our new bed last night, and slept in it for the first time. It is a huge improvement over the old one. I didn't realize how uncomfortable that old bed was until I slept on this one.

Thanks. I ended up inviting myself to Thanksgiving dinner with my uncle the Spartan and his family. It feels very awkward to ask if you can crash someone's dinner party, but I know I'll have a good time and be welcomed, so I'm glad I asked. While I've had several friends invite me to their dinners, I want to be with family because that's what Thanksgiving is to me. I'm lucky to have an awesome family (even if none of them thought to invite me to Thanksgiving dinner) and awesome friends.

So, bbdl and the future misses wore out his old bed, huh? Heh heh heh.

I don't know if that has anything to do with it....I think a better explanation is that it was an old, hand-me-down mattress from like 1976. You could feel the springs when you slept on it.

I'm surrounded by idiots. Including one that ****ed up her payroll last week and has no concept of how to fix it.

Need to borrow your shovel when you're done

Edit: I'm now at BWW about to have wings and beer for lunch. What a stupid morning and a stupid farking project manager.

I'm guessing the reason the Jan vs. CC series thread is titled something about the Big 10 is just Jan being Jan again? With the exception of St. Clown and LWB, such a sad, sad, fanbase.

Why do people wait till the last possible moment and think they can get stuff? Sitting on the bus on the way to the airport terminal and I get an email from a woman who is planning a meeting and wants jackets. The meeting is in 3 weeks. And that includes a 4-day holiday weekend. I email her I'm en route to the airport and will call when I get to the gate.

Naturally she isn't there. I emailed her a lengthy note about what a challenge this will be, had a co-worker forward her the catalog. Haven't heard a peep. Oy. Always when I'm heading out on a trip. Need to shut down now, plane's about to pull away. Maybe she'll respond by the time I'm in Dallas.
