Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

So I go into work today. After a few minutes, co-worker tells me to call the boss. I call, and he informs me I was scheduled off. I completely forgot I took today off, because of the (since cancelled) AZ I had scheduled this past weekend. :o

Business was really slow, though, and after a half-day, boss gave me the option of taking PTO for the rest of the day. Yayz! On top of that, at my apt building, people will leave stuff in the lobby for anyone to take. It's a thing, I don't know why. Anyway, because of that, I got myself a free "Kingpin" dvd. :)

Good day so far!

So I think I have a concussion.. I've had a constant headache since my men's league game on Saturday night.. I didn't think I really got hit that hard, but who knows. I've been a bit groggy, tired, and had constant headaches for the last four days.

Get it checked, probably worth the dr bill

Howdy, Loj.

Just got out of Expired Password Limbo. It's creepy in there, man.

T-day for us is going to the bro-in-law's. Somehow we got the tradition where I do all the dishes -- and I like it that way. You get to sit around and eat and drink all day, then right about the point where you've maybe had enough lively discussions you get to go off by yourself. And to top it off everybody thinks you're a saint. Last year people kept bringing me drinks during my shift to say thanks. Could be worse!
This is the opposite of **** poor planning.

Good evening Lodge.

We have no plans for turkey day. Not sure what the deal is but both the mrs. and myself haven't really discussed it yet.

Major reorg announced at work today. (I have been working on it for quite a while though) I was present for a couple tough "conversations" with people today. Cripes that sucks. Oh well it is what is. Good thing is my name is still on the org chart. More people reporting to me though. F n a.

We have a major reorg about twice a year, minimum. Renaming departments and positions, transfers, new teams being created, etc. Hate it every time.

That sucks even worse. At least you're safe.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

I got a new phone. I'm trying to get my stuff loaded onto it. It took me way too long to remember my Apple ID and password. Thankfully, I now have a work laptop because I was able to get into my ID list at work where I have both personal and work related info kept in an encrypted file. Now I'll have to explain to my boss why I was online at 9:00 PM in the morning. I'll have to make a local copy for my home PC some day.

What did you go with?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

The iPhone 5S 32GB. I've had Android in the past, but have had problems with them. My iPhone 4 works for me with no hassles, so I just went with the new one. I got the 5S "free" with my plan. It's the new Sprint plan where they charge you a premium for the coverage, but you get a new phone "for free" every year. I figured out the difference between plan costs in my head, my old plan and this new one, and I end up getting the $300 phone for about $270 over the course of the year. I was prepared to shell out the cash today, so if I switch back to my old plan next year, assuming it's still there, I might do it and be ahead by $30. I'm still not sure if I like the idea of replacing my phone every year. We'll see.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Agreed. Spending turkey day with otters would be fun. I wonder what they taste like.
probably fishy and tough, they move around way too much, and don't have much fat on them

I would guess not good. Maybe kind of fishy tasting. I'd rather try the lion steaks, grilled medium rare.
this makes more sense. they're always trying to eat me

Well...a man actually tamed the maneater? ;)

I have my doubts she's been tamed...:p

:D

Well, I met with the Mavs team doctor, who is a friend of mine, and he basically told me it's a concussion.

I would probably call this a concussion. Basically lay low, avoid texting, video games, intense movies, computer screens, etc and class if needed. No exercise until symptoms clear then increase slowly.

This is not my lifestyle...

Not fun at all. Never officially got diagnosed, but pretty certain I had a couple concussions back in high school when I was still playing. Hope things get back to normal for you soon, be smart about it.

Heading into Mobile here in a couple hours. Then continuing north to northern Alabama.

Thanks. I'm having trouble sleeping tonight. Well, it's gotta get better at some point.
