Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

Hello fellow RR Lodge members...I have a favor to ask. Vote for my friend Sadie's design! (At the bottom of the page)

I'm not an overly competitive person (at least not crazy over the top competitive) but I am really cranked up about helping Sadie win this design contest. Sadie, a member of the Syracuse women's hockey team, is in a knock down drag out battle for first in a contest for the design of a new Chevy Sonic that will be done up in Syracuse colors for the school's "Road Warriors."

Aside from being a nice resume builder, it also comes with a $2500 payout. Sadie is a non-scholarship athlete, so this would be an extra special win for her. As the founder of the Rep Retirement Lodge I not so humbly ask your help in 1) helping Sadie to a win, and 2) fulfilling my need to see a much better design beat out the not so good design of someone who has been leveraging social media to stay in the hunt in this contest.

You can vote daily on this, so by all means throw your weight around by sharing with your Facebook friends and voting daily.

Thanks,

Hux

Well, in the past week or so, all my Dec weekends have filled up with stuff. Holiday/event season for sure.

As for the weather...still waiting for the current Snowmageddon to happen.

Done.

HHT! (I think).

AIC is so bad I was embarrassed to clap for my team. 2 goals in first minute. There were some of their kids who really looked like they were skating hard but there were a few who were lazy, not hussling and should have let some other kid take their spot. There were also a few big kids that literally could not pivot. I was having flashbacks to when Lil's team would play in the first part of the season before they seeded teams and they would be skating against teams where you just felt pain for the kids and parents.

I almost forgot- ATTN MOOKIE!!
Jasmine was about 4 rows down wearing a very cute winter knit dress with a little fur lined hood. Facing the wrong way for a picture but we thought of you

Leaving there was a ~14 yr old girl with fishnet stockings and very short cut off shorts who was giving the look and smiling at Lil. I told him he better bathe when he got home. some of the things parents let their kids wear in public are downright frightening!

mookie stumbled upon great news. encore classic is showing magnum pi from the start. tonight was the back end of the 2hr pilot. :D so mookie spent the last 1hr 38min reading all the episodes of the best show ever on the innertube :p
(SUCH a losah )

9-1 for the Varsity tonight. I wanted 15; I want this team, for as talented as it is, to have the mindset of pure domination each time they step on the ice. Good start for us, nonetheless.

Morning chaps.

Guess what day it is!?

Anyways, just another weekday for me today. Should reach 50 today. Wish I wasn't too lazy to bring my skates downtown. Perfect day to use the public rink.

Good Morning Lodge.

A significant percentage (but NOT all) of the drivers around here are morons. It is the first significant snowfall and some are creeping along, some are going reasonable speed and some are flying - many are ending up in the ditch.

Took me about 40 minutes to drive my usual 23 minute commute. Not pleased with MNDOT's efforts either. I drove 16 miles on some the heaviest use highways in the metro and did not see ONE plow or sanding truck out. And all these roads needed it.

Heading out in a few minutes, but thankfully I know all the backroads, plus have a short commute to begin with. I can't imagine how bad it was an hour ago.

Took me an hour to get in, normally takes 25 minutes. I took the backroads, trying to avoid hwy 65 like the plague, which was probably still a good idea. People were crawling along, it was terrible. It is snow, it isn't rocket surgery to drive in it!

I did see many, many plows though, they were out everywhere in the north metro.

My aunt and uncle fly into town from Pittsburgh on Saturday. They're in for a rude awakening. I called them last night to make sure they understand what's coming their way. My brother had told them to be prepared for the cold, but it apparently didn't sink in with them until I called and gave them the actual numbers from the forecast. She had mentioned to me about it being a bit cold there, with a high of only 50 yesterday. Yeah...

The snow added about 20 minutes to my bus ride, most of that was on 35W. South of the river was just a small bit of snow on the ground, maybe a quarter- to half-inch of snow. The amounts appeared more as we drove north, which corresponded to what I heard on the radio.
