Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #171: On Turkeys.

In my experience, when I worked retail through high school and college, it's now after noon and therefore you shouldn't have an issue with busy lines. Also, you could likely order online and get the same deal with most retailers.

Flying tomorrow morning and then back here Monday. Otherwise it would be a no brainer to just order online. Meh, I might try heading out and seeing what's still in stock later this afternoon, we'll see.

I went to the bike store to have one of my bikes maintained. They told me that there was a 20%-off sale today for Black Friday. I bought a new bike.

We know you, Ralph. You're going to ride it once and then put it away, never to be used again.

The worst of it is over 2 hours after open. After that, it's a normal busy Saturday during the holidays. If it's like the last Black Friday I worked, then during the overnight hours it was absolutely dead. There were probably a few moments where there were no customers in the store at all.

yeah, that sounds like a terrible idea. I can see not wanting to be saddled with an engineering job if you don't like it... but that stuff can be done on the side during school anyways. At least go for something that co-mingles well and leaves an out if it falls through like marketing or something. Sure, that's not math intensive but there are other ways to travel through life.

Sounds like there are other issues there. Especially if its become rock science or nothing.

I know a school with a solid music program ;) I'll buy the jersey. Seriously though, Lowell's music program has always had a side where they have to take calculus and physics. If that's REALLY her thing... i mean, christ, don't leave yourself in a useless lurch, whatever you do! Plenty of ways to weave engineering or math and music. Produce records though? Eh... I should mention a bunch of my sister's delusions through the years.

Ideally, I think she should do community college in Cedar Rapids for a year while she figures her life out. Also, she should try getting a job and see how much a job that doesn't require a degree pays. I think that will make her decide what to do rather quickly. ;)

Unfortunately, there's other stuff going on out there which is going to prevent that. When my uncle died a year and a half ago, they obviously lost his income and my aunt hasn't been able to make a house payment for a year now, so she's kind of been forced to set a course for both of them. She's trying to hang onto the house until July of next year, and then my cousin will be living at whatever university she ends up at, and my aunt can start over somewhere else.

Jr and I saw GE and his dad at the Gopher Blue Line lunch today. I bought 6 raffle tickets and split them with Jr. He won 2 items on his 3 tickets.

Survived black Friday with no major injuries. To be honest, it was dead out there.

Bought a bunch of clothes for the boy and some led lights for out front. BF has pretty much turned into buy the stuff we need anyway at better prices as opposed to actual Christmas shopping.

Thanksgiving leftovers are all gone.

Next up Gophers/Badgers & Hawks/Stars. Fire's going. Bring it on!

I won a really cool golf shirt, which is a large. My son will love it. :)

HHT. Taught one of Madre's kids "Ski-U-Mah," and of course he was chanting that all night. :)

Now watching a heckuva BSU-Miami game.

Well. That was a giant dick-punch of an afternoon-evening.

BSU almost pulled out a nice come from behind win. On well... I will take a tie.
