Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

THey thought Einstein couldn't handle things either. How did that work out for them?

Einstein's teachers never thought that of him. They all knew that he had the capacity for the work, and he was setting the bar for the rest of the class when he would conform to what the teachers required of him. That's where he fell into issues, he was such a rebel when it came to what he wanted to learn and going against the establishment that it hurt his grades because - no surprise - those German schools all required conformity in order to get the best grades.

Hey ya'll.

I took AP Calculus, AP Art History, AP US History, and AP Government. I loved them all, actually. Calc was a bit tough in the spring of my senior year, though.

Florida Georgia Line concert Friday, Iowa homecoming Saturday. Should be awesome.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Michigan has homecoming on Saturday. I think as long as we have fewer than 4 turnovers we should be able to beat the Goofers.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I never took any AP classes. My senior year was my slack-off year. I had 3 band classes, creative writing, Spanish, and I was a TA for middle school math -- the teacher was the high school girls basketball coach, I was the girls basketball manager, the class I was a TA for was at the end of the day... You get my drift :p

Mavsy, how did the interview go?

I take it you are non-essential? Or just on lunch break from your essential job? ;)

That or you switched to a marketing job.

Quite nonessential... I just provide millions of dollars in otherwise unrealizable, yet unasked for (by the public) value.

We're just that awesome.

The interview went very well. I have a meeting with the head coach and AD next Thursday. Quite the process here for an assist at coach.:p The head coach virtually told me I'll be the head JV coach, and that it's an important year for the JV, as the bantam A is young and will need developing as well. While it's not official, it seems as though things should be settled next week officially.

Cool. Good luck.

Is anyone else excited for hockey season? Exhibition game this weekend, and first real game next Thursday. I'm also excited because I figured out how to make my UNH hockey trip into a work trip so I can save a little money and not burn a vacation day (I'll spend Friday afternoon visiting a supplier, then off to hockey).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I'm excited but a little bummed. Due to work travel, I am on track to miss an EPIC number of games this season. I will BU's home opener for the first time since 1997. If this work travel schedule holds up like it's planned, I may miss all of January and potentially most of February. And the Beanpot. Which I have not missed since 1990.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I just found out my town is getting a Five Guys.

The town in which I was raised is now building a Chick-fil-A. It's funny to think about all the people excited for it, and when I talk to my coworkers in Charlotte, NC about it they just laugh. People out there like the place, but it's nothing special to them - it's just a chicken sandwich shop. Out here, people are salivating for them. Apparently it's true, new is always better.

The first stop for food bigblue, my sister and I made in North Carolina: Chick-fil-A

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

they are pretty good. I've gone twice since living in a city with them. their burgers are a bit small, but tasty.

Weren't there some here when you lived here? I'm sure I went to Five Guys for a burger a couple years ago, and you didn't move that long ago. They're all over town now.

I'm excited for Chik Fil A, mmmmm Chick Fil A! I know a few people down south that love it.

Edit: only 6 more days until Chick-Fil-A in CRapids opens!!!

Also, The puppy just ripped ***. Smells like burnt rubber.

Good evening Lodge.

I took difficult classes in high school which included some AP classes but I slacked more than the usual slacker. I rarely and I mean rarely applied myself but always managed to get decent grades. Same goes for college. Junior of college is when I woke up and decided to become a part time slacker versus a full time slacker. My friends in high school and in college at times despised me because of it.

I am by no means a slacker now. I take my work seriously and I am still the chair of 4 non profit boards and my family life is the area in which I focus most of my energy. However, being a slacker drove my parents nuts while I was in high school and college. I can see some of that in my boys today. I am going to pay. F n a I am going to pay. ;)
