Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Never been to one. :( A lost part of Americana.
With as few that are left, there are going to be a whole lot less after this fall. Hollywood, in the name of piracy, is now pushing for an all digital distribution system. Drive-ins and those second run theatres still purchased the 35mm/70mm/whatever reels of film because it was cheaper. Cheaper in the sense that they didn't have to shell out the cash to upgrade to digital.

There is one by NMUKat and I's place that just converted to digital. It's family owned, and very popular so the owners had no problem ponying up the cash to upgrade.

It's a great venue.

Good afternoon Lodge.

Regarding the Drive In...in the next few months most of the remaining Drive In's will fade to black due to the change over to digital and the expenses related.....Last night the staff at the drive In were handing out flyers. Check out www.projectdrivein.com. Feel free to vote for Long Prairie, MN. Text vote 63 to 444999.

Less humid today but still hot. The g family went for a long bike ride this morning and plenty of fluids were required.

Getting ready to head to the lake and go for a boat ride before some potentially nasty weather shows up.

Edit. No boat ride. A nasty little storm just came through. The temperature dropped over 20 degrees in less than half an hour. Cripes it's chilly. Wish it was hot and muggy. ;)

Last I checked the radar it looked like the heavy stuff is heading to the southern part of the metro, might even miss the metro. Again, the heavy stuff, not rain in general.

We got a little rain about an hour ago. Found a window to take the dog out.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Usual Sunday routine and then meeting up with the in-laws for dinner. Mr. and myself, hopefully, made it perfectly clear that it will only be the 4 of us at dinner tonight. No unexpected/uninvited visitors like they do every time.

Good morning! The temp and dewpoint have made for a glorious morning here in Capital City, MN.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

I spent all day yesterday with a couple of my buddies, their kids, and one of their wives (the other got called into work last minute). There was swimming, tubing, and skiing. All I could do was sit around in the boat because my shoulder's still not yet swimming approved. Good times.

We saw a family with a house on the lake take four attempts to get a para-sailor into the air. That took over an hour to happen as it was about 20 minutes following each failed attempt.

Good Morning Lodge.

Some nice work by your buddy for the Gophs last night. Was thinking of you when he took off for the 48 yd or so TD run. The rest of the team and the D not so impressive (other than special teams).
He played okay.. That passing game, as a whole, has a ways to go still.

Iowa City was a blast yesterday, but goodness was it got. Field temp was 165 degrees at kick.. Those little rubber pelts in the turf must've been boiling. Tough game, but I have no expectations.

Hope everyone is enjoying the "last weekend of summer."

Remind me to never, ever go shopping at KMart ever again. Seriously, dregs of humanity shop there (at least the one I was at) and the slowest cashiers. I hope I do't have to bring back the stuff I bought there. I may decide to eat the cost instead of doing that.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #170: Fair Weather

Hit the Fair today with bbdl/PBS/MNS. Quite crowded due to the weather, although we arrived early enough to beat some of the long lines for food.

I ended up having mini-donuts, porketta pigwings, deep-fried apple pie w/cinnamon ice cream, alligator sausage, and a candied-bacon cannoli.

It's now time to chill on the couch and not move for about 3 weeks due to the food coma I'm in.:)

Good evening Lodge.

I have to keep reminding myself that tomorrow's a holiday. :o

Was tempted to hit the Fair again tomorrow (some of my family is going), but I don't really want to deal with the big crowd like we did today. Plus, there's only 1-2 things I didn't get to today that I'd get to tomorrow. So, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
