Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

What's a "smartphone"?
Brent, I didn't know you had another name!

At the hotel. I drove up into the mountains, and had lunch at Breckenridge Brewpub, along with an excellent Bourbon Barrel Aged Belgian Oatmeal Stout. Just waiting for time to pass, until I can head to the concert. Will probably have to run to a sporting goods store and buy a jacket, its colder here than I expected. Ha! I'm stuck in colder weather!

Heck, I didn't have a wireless telephone-like device that fits in your pocket until I started college. But it can't be a telephone; where's the dial?

Welp. Came home to bad news. Grandpa is in the hospital. He's my last remaining grandparent (had 2 maternal great-grandmas, 1 maternal great-grandpa, and both sets of grandparents growing up, the first, a maternal great-grandma passed away at 103 when I was about 12-13 years old). I am not thinking this will end well, as he's been struggling for about a year now with some dementia and such. :(

Sorry to hear.

Good evening Lodge.

:( That is sad.

I see what you did there.

Brent that sucks, prayers.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Thanks, guys.

And that Zac Brown concert that bbdl is at? It's live on AXS Channel right now. Not that I'll spot him, but there is NOTHING else on tv.

I guess I could look for the only person not tokin' up. There are too many neat hats there (which is the usual tip).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Sorry to hear that, Brent. :(

Thanks, RalphPa.

And while I hate country, and apparently Zac sings one of the songs I hate most (earworm: that chicken fried Saturday night song), he does put on a helluva show. Medley that included Kashmir by Led and Devil Went Down To Georgia, while wearing glow in the dark skeleton costumes, was pretty friggin' awesome.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Thoughts and prayers with you, Brent.

Stuff like that makes the struggles my lady and I have had seem so small.. We've been talking more lately.. Seen each other a bit, I'm heading to Iowa tomorrow with her for her sister's graduation from college..

Anyways, tonight we talked and she said that "spark" is sometimes there, but it's not ALWAYS there. Holding back tears she told me she hates how much it hurts me and she wants nothing more than for it to come back.

I told her I'm not going to "wait" forever. She also said she feels like she needs "the chase" back.. Like she wants me to talk with other girls and be a little jealous, etc.. That she thinks it might reignite that spark..

Convenient timing, eh?

Not sure what to think about this.. Sounds like I'm gonna have to play hard to get or move on.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Ditch her. F the games. F. The. Games. It's called adulthood. Although I'm a bachelor, so take it as you will.

But thanks for the T and P.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Sorry to hear Brent.

Hell, I ended up being a pall bearer for my mom's father when he passed on when I was 14 because my mom's idiot brother couldn't have bothered himself with coming to the funeral. Mom always said that she knew for sure that grandpa was dead because I was on the end of the casket going into the car and we didn't have it up high enough at first to slide it in, so we kind of bumped it a little. He complained to no end about how rough the ambulance ride was when he had an episode that lead us to finding out that cancer had spread all thru his bowels and he just had a few months to get his affairs in order.

Sigh, gotta get up early tomorrow morning to do a chair event at some pizza joint. And they don't even do that great of a pizza there anyways. Oh well, least this place is on a farm.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

That concert was amazing. Better than the first ZBB concert I went to. They just put on a great show. Add to that, Red Rocks is easily the greatest music venue I've ever experienced, I'm coming back next year for ZBB Red Rocks, since he announced tonight they're coming here every year. But no one told me I'd have to climb a ****ing mountain to get to it. Holy ****, that was a climb.

I need to get a recording of that show, since it was broadcast. Does that AXS channel show replays, so I can DVR it?
